  • Yea 6  None apart from the Mugen are really worth sending across to the other side of the world

    -OEM Steering Wheel
    -Woodgrain
    -Black "Personal"
    -Black leather/yellow stitch "Personal"
    -Black leather/red stitch "Personal"
    -Mugen S2

I had justified reasons for buying each, but I dont remember what they were
  • super dope man, love'n everything about it. I cant wait to tear into mine, ive just been stock piling parts. When i tear into it i wanna get as much done as i can possibly do. Gonna do the whole build myself, hopefully wont have to send anything out. It should just be assembly of my engine and turbo kit and alittle bit of fab work on down pipe and traction bar. Full shave and tuck and a tune and then maybe mine wil be up to par
  • ^ Thanks

Before this swap I had only done basic things to my cars, bolt on's etc. I have rebuilt a couple cylinder heads and assisted in assembling a few motors but nothing major.

After doing this swap, ask me where anything in my engine bay is and how its works and I could probably tell you  Its been a good experience, and if the car was at my house Im sure I would have had it done long ago, as there are those moments when theres nothing to do for half an hour so you can pop out and work on the car, but with it at my parents house across town its hard to get the motivation after a while to drive all the way over for what turns out to be a couple hours work.
That being said, because its taking longer its giving me the chance to take my time and do things properly rather than rush them and have its only 75% or something

Today I finally had enough motivation saved up and it was a B-E-A-Utiful day so I got the shuttle running (one check engine light for vtec solenoid which I haven't connected yet) and moved it so I could swap the brake booster and Master Cylinder.
It now has a 15/16th DA6 Master Cylinder and CB Accord Brake booster.

Now its finally back at my place and in the garage to tidy up all the little bits and get it ready for a WOF, on with the pics:

Im VERY happy with how it has turned out, seeing it away from its normal parking spot and taking it for a quick drive reminded me why I have this car
  • Looking good NZ real good!

  • I have no clue when I will see the home stretch on mine. Glad to see somebody getting theirs together!

I know that feeling, but it really is all worth once you get to take it for a drive. By no means am I completely finished but all the hard stuff is done

I made my choice to have this car harder today, went and picked up a car for a good friend of mine (the one who drove this shuttle up the country for me). Dropped it off at his parents house, he wont be back in town for another 6-7weeks.

One of Seven NZDM 2001 Integra Type R. One of Three Yellow ones. In 2001 There were 7 NZ new Type R's specially brought into the country. They are a combination of USDM and JDM

The clear coat has faded and gone cloudy after living outside in the sun for a year. We have very high UV levels in New Zealand which is very hard on paint :(

The roof is the same, I have polished and waxed it and it looks better but will need a respray at some stage. Wont be happening any time soon though, but it is on my list of things to do.

    edit/

Heres a pic of the engine bay, just needs some new headers and the new radiator installed along with minor tidy ups

Its a pain, but the paint job was never the best part of this car anyway.

Thanks, its come out pretty decent, just bought some cheap stainless 4-2-1 headers
  • dude your wagon is turning out sooo sexy haha, I love the wheels. and the engine bay, nice job man

man that is a sweet shuttle

Thanks guys, its slowly taking shape.

Test fitted my new headers and halfsized radiator today.

Headers= Need a polish but will fit sweet as once I make some "adjustments" to the subframe
Radiator= Wont fit, its about 35mm to high for the bonnet to close and will need major subframe mods to work. Stock will do for now

You got lucky there with your header! what kind of header is that! btw can you hook it up with any EDM lower consoles there?
  • jdm_rolexjdm_rolex New Wagonist
NZ btw when you swapped out the motor, what bracket did you use to run your power steering? did the old one just bolt up fine?
  • AaronAaron Wagonist
if you ever want to sell it, i will buy it lol soo clean bro

It actually fits better now that I have tightened it all up, it was only sitting in place in those pics. Just some cheap "Xforce" branded headers.

We dont get any EDM Honda parts here, all ours are either JDM or NZDM. It has a factory JDM interior

I used a DA6 Integra Hi Pressure Power steering Line and BSeries Bracket and Pump, all the rest is factory. Needed a new piece of hose from the reservoir to the low pressure side of the pump though, factory one was about 15mm to short

Thanks, though I think the Shipping Price might put you off

Polished up the Headers over this week, also got my shift linkages shortened.

Have headers all bolted up now, radiator in, just waiting on some shifter bushes and will install that. Then just brake pads and brake shoes (which I have) and it *should* be all go

    hi, very nice project!

do you use koni shocks and springs for an shuttle or from EFcivic or CRX.
later i wanna do it like you, get some konis with additional grooves but don´t no what springs to use to go low as much possible? Normal CRX/hatch springs, or loweringssprings for an crx/civic hatch??
Im so confused in this theme. And because im from europe,it would be better i could use original Honda springs from CRX or so to lower it,because aftermarket parts, springs too, needs tuv papers for car inspection. And there are nor lowering springs made for shuttles with tuv papers, so what i could do to lower it with Koni shocks + honda springs from crx or Civic hatch without cutting the springs??

    Other question:

B18C works stressless with RT 4 WD?
  • NZ-DB8RNZ-DB8R Moderator
I am using Koni shocks for EF3 Civic Si Hatchback with lowering springs for CRX/Civic.
I don't think stock CRX/Civic springs would lower it very much, are you able to use H&R lowering springs? They make good springs for CRX/Civic and being German must have the right paperwork for Europe?

I have seen these springs in Japan for Shuttle:
    http://page12.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/a ... p207181788
I don't know much about them though. I think you would need Shuttle shocks for them to work in the back.

My Shuttle is 2WD so I don't know how the RT4WD system would cope with B18c

Hope that helps to get your Shuttle low :D

Right, this is basically complete. I now just have to pump up a flat tyre and attempt to pass a WOF (warrent of fitness, cars must have a inspection every 6 months to ensure they are in a safe and road worthy condition). I should technically fail as engine conversions require a certification to say that the swap has been done safely and everything is up to standard, but Im hoping to sneak it through this time around and get a cert in a month or so.

Had a CEL issue, code 22 which is Vtec Pressure Sensor. Turns out I had my Knock Senseor and VTEC pressure wires swapped where the engine loom meets the chassis loom. All sorted now.

    Headers have had some heat:
