I need to build my exhaust but my buddy with the lift and bender seems to be working a lot so i may have to just bite it and go pay a shop down town to do it but there gunna want to me to have a cat.....
Got the exhaust on today nothing fancy but it works and its hella quiet. its about an 18" hush "cherry bomb" (used as the resonator) then a knock off magnaflow/flowmaster 2 1/2 muffler i got for $10 from my buddy who had it on his car for like a week. I love it cant wait to get it tuned and get some vids for u guys.
thanx guys and yes its gunna get driven a lot. Saturday she is goin in to get street tuned on about 10lbs since i dont know how much more this clutch is gunna take (this is the same clutch i had with my gold turbo'd wagon from like 3 years ago) and the more i think about it i dont want this china made ebay turbo giving up on me in a month so im gunna just go easy for now. should still be fun and hit high 13's. oh yeah i bought shakeys and then wagobrads old wheels this week also.
all but 1 tire is shot I think im gunna take my tires off my white wheels and put them on these.
well i got it kinda street tuned for about 10lbs we had some issues so i didnt get charged and im going back next saturday to dyno tune the car. Im also having an over heating issue when im going up hill the car slowly climbs in temp.... the engine bay is friggin HOT!!! so i drove with the hood popped and it seemed to help a lil. im gunna wrap the down pipe with header tape, shim the hood, cut more of the bumper out, and order a turbo blanket. if that cant cure it then im gunna have to get fancy and build some sort of heat shield for the mani. other than that she runs good although i do belive my clutch is gunna need to be changed soon and i guess while its out i should get me a phantom grip as well. anyways guys i dont want to beat it too bad so vids will have to wait till next saturday.
as far as your cooling issues, my friend used one of those "jdm cooling plates" that you bolt on the front cross member above the radiator. he swore it helped keep his temps down. it would allow you to keep the hood closed with out having to modify anything else.
Matt, the car is in the process of repairing the rust on the rear quarters and taillights area. then it's off for paint. I have all the parts stored and waiting to install. As far as suspension/engine/drivetrain it is complete. Replaced all the bushings (all of them), converted to a manual Si rack, and all that other shit that it was dying to be had done. I've just been lazy in getting it finished:( been working on selling my CRX and moving into a new photography studio...
Love the look of the new car. You always build nic cars!
hey I tried pm'ing you but I didn't have enough status or something. I was told by 1988rt that you could give me a rundown on all the parts that are needed for the rear disc conversion swap. I really like that ex gauge cluster it looks nice. how much power is your car making?

I had to do all that + some to keep my engine running cool this summer. There's very little air flow that makes in to the radiator. I added a tripple core over dual, made a deflector to keep air from coming around the radiator, cut the bumper more, tilled the hood, rapped the manifold and added a turbo blanket. All that seems to keep the temp cool on a hot day!! I also played with the timing under light load and croose, that also made a difference.
