  • Tranny + Engine are in the Engine bay !!!
I cleaned everythings a little... It's not a show car, but I'm pleased with the result...
I hope water won't leak again (from the rear of the engine).

The car does'nt start any more !!!
The starter cranck the engine, but no sparks on the plugs.
The engine light on the dash doesn't light, and the main relay doesn't make the "tac" noise !?
    I don't think I mess with the wires (I doublechecked everything)...?! :?
  • It started ! I think it was the clutch pedal switch  .

I've got 6 BBS RS, here (in France) it must be easier to get these wheels. Very nice restored set are very expensive... And used are expensive to, rarely complete (with the caps). I made a BIG deal on my 6 BBS RS !! New outer lips + bolts are not cheap too !
And it's a lot of work to change them.

Yeah, "Benouz" is from France too.
    Translation :
    You'are a big silly man!
The BBS are badass ! And quiet rare on a Shuttle.
  • gotta love the translation...

    can you try the accent...
    ?

  • LAULE ! = lol with French accent. ^^
  • Some news !

The Shuttle needs to pass the French "Tech Control", likes the English MOT, I don't know the US equivalent.
So, the tires are so old and so dry that there are a lot of cracks on ther sidewalls :/ .
I asked a friend to loan me a set of wheels + tires.

    12645_212913489777_704889777_4190783_7500070_n.jpg

These wheels were on my friend MR2 AW11... I find them so UGLY ! But... On the Shuttle, they look goods !!

    12645_212913499777_704889777_4190784_2114447_n.jpg

They came from a 80's Audi I think. There is the Audi and VW sign stamped on them.
14x6 +45 ... Yeah the Shuttle needs to be lowered A LOT !

Oh... And my new clucth, slide again. :/
It must be a problem with the cable adjustement.
  • The problem is from the clutch pedal pivot... It is cracked. I found on the board that is a common problem on the Shutlle... :/
I think the problem was here from the begening :
The clutch was sliding because the cable wasn't adjust correctly (it was too much stretch) and the pedal didn't move the cable too much because of the crack on the pivot !
Waow... It tooked me 1 month to figure that !
  • The pedals bracket was totaly cracked.

    This part :
    www.civicwagon.com

I decided to change it for a brand new one from Honda, isn't very cheap, but I can't fix the damage one.

    Here we go !
    11244_219596179777_704889777_4249750_5703173_n.jpg

Everything have to be pull off to clear the bracket + pedals !

    1 hour later :
    11244_219596184777_704889777_4249751_6214480_n.jpg

The brandnew bracket is on the left, all the pedals + springs and other things have to be mount on the new one.

    CRACKED !!

    11244_219704374777_704889777_4250845_8310720_n.jpg

I put some used pads from one of my previous Honda...And a VERY NICE "pad" on the accelerator pedal !
You can see the cracked bracket from behind !

    11244_219704379777_704889777_4250846_6814870_n.jpg

ET VOILA ! Every things in place and cleaned. It tooks me about 4 hours.

Now I'm wainting for some parts to fix my water leak from behind the engine (from water pump to thermostat housing).

It's happened to many of us. Looks like a design flaw. Then again our vehicles are pretty frikin old, so maybe it's not that surprising.

Yes I was a victim of this too!
  • Yes... I though it was the clutch, the clutch cable... It was the bracket  .
  • I did a lot of work on my EE4 recently, but I really need more time :/

I finally fixed this F***ING coolant leak, it was a mess :

    11244_226409124777_704889777_4310084_1107401_n.jpg

First the leak cames from the thermostat housing, look at the "steal hose", the part runs from the water pump to the thermostat housing. It was very difficult to pull it out of her place.
BUT, It was impossible to rebolt it in place !!
I had to take off, the complete intake and air breather (the little box, behind the engine, that collect unburn oil)... It was long.

    11244_226409229777_704889777_4310085_5370929_n.jpg

    11244_226409344777_704889777_4310090_7065000_n.jpg

But it wasn't my day... I rebolted everything into place with my brandnew parts and seals... And I started teh engine, then I lost almost all my coolant from the water pump side !!!
I restarted everything from the begining, the brandnew O ring (water pump side) has moved... Now everything is fine ! WAOW !

I have a little problem with my electric motor fan (very very noisy !!), I've got a new one, I've got new (silicon black) radiator hoses. They are waiting in my garage.

I finally changed my sterring wheel, because it was very used ont his top, the cover is gone.

    11244_231294819777_704889777_4355057_3183198_n.jpg

I love Nardi steering-wheels, I've got one in my AE86, so I bought what it looks like a fake one on ebay

    11244_231294824777_704889777_4355058_5175221_n.jpg

    I used the shorter of my 3 "boss-kit" .
  • I also changed my spark plugs for some Denso Iridium ones.

    11244_231294829777_704889777_4355059_1147736_n.jpg

And changed the 2 boots of my passenger side CV Shaft.

    11244_231294849777_704889777_4355062_2880481_n.jpg

I've got brand new bearings for the front.
All the brake parts, master cylinder, braided hoses, slotted discs, PBR pads...
I'm still waiting for my BBS RS... They are at the paint shop.
I have to order a set of coil-overs (real ones, not sleeves): BTW any brand/model suggestions ??

And then I could work on the exterior look of my car... LOL, it's a long way !
  • integral_48integral_48 New Wagonist
cant wait to see them wheels mounted..
  • Sorry, I was very busy and the Wagon had to wait... But now I've got a lot of time, because I gave up my job...
I got back my BBS from the paint shop, I have to put the new 2' outer lips on them.
I ordered a set of coil over.

Wow! Those BBS are going to look sick on your wagon. Wat size tire u planning on running?
  • I hesitate... But 195.45.15 must be nice.
  • ThaClutcHThaClutcH Senior Wagonist
It is definitely going to look good. I would say silver center caps, but we'll have to see how it looks against the color of your car.

I changed my 2 hoses, because the little one was dead, it's gonna blow one day or another.
And the electric fan motor mades a very bad noise and mades the car shakes !

    22358_277396499777_704889777_4634435_6069864_n.jpg

It's the good OEM electric motor, but the ref number has changed a lot of time since 1990... So the connector doesn't match !
