  • I could go H22a as they are very cheap here, but im not really a fan of the Hseries motor, this motor will stay completly stock, though I may swap the Intake manifold as I dont like the B18c one. Im not aiming for power, I have my Integra to go fast

If im correct this will be the first B Swapped Shuttle in New Zealand
  • Right another pictureless update (sad I know, but none of you want too see a very sad looking broken shuttle covered in dust).

Engine swap kit arrives tomorrow (thusday) or friday and I will try get it home for the weekend to start pulling it apart to see what needs replacing.

Quick Summary of what im getting:
    -B18c from DC2 integra
-Bseries Cable Box from DA6 integra
-DA6 Shift linkages (will use EF8 ones)
    -DA6 Axles
    -EG6 OBD1 engine loom
    -DC2 OBD1 ECU

    Still Waiting on MOUNTS!!!!

So yes, I am endeavoring to change to OBD1 now, slight change of plans, but I should be able to sort it all out, if any of you have some hints or tips let me know!

    And some PROGRESS!

Cleaned up my new Calipers at work when I had a spare moment, also knocked out the old lower ball joints, will press out the wheel bearings tomorrow if I get the chance:

The only thing im STILL waiting on is my Innovative mounts, the local retailer im getting them through has sent at least 2 emails but just today Innovative decided they hadnt received any, they had best be here in time

AAH so that is what chris from strongs was talking about, I picked up the crv wing and she said you bought something but he wouldn't tell. I have some brand new 262mm discs here at home that i'm trying to get rid of

Im gunna keep this off NZH till after I take it to the track in Febuary.

Damn I just ordered some discs this morning, all the parts are starting to arrive!, If I dont get a reply about the mounts by tomorrow then Im ordering some off Ebay, sick of waiting!

I want this swap done now!

    Haha thanks,

Dont mean to burst your bubble but I turned down a midwing and top wing about a month ago, I like the OEM rear. But I cant deny that they dont look damn good with the right supporting mods. :D
  • im not a big fan of the top wing but i loves the midwing on a good slammed stance
  • eewagonz6 wrote:

Yes exactly, and I cant quite pull off the slammed stance just yet, so to me the OEM rear looks nice and clean without. I may change my mind once I see yours though

    maybe not.
i had a mishap the other day when i was towing my car home.
i was goin about 40mph down the highway and the wheel on my wagon flew off the car and messed up my fender and the whole spindle/brake assembly.
    =/
  • Sucks to hear ^^ :(

Right, an Update, replaced front wheel bearings and lower ball joints in some spare time at work this week, got some nice new 262mm discs on there now too:

And heres the beast of a shop press I used, its older than I am (like most of the workshop tools):
    388.jpg

And the selection of pulling tools I had at my disposal, decisions decisions:
    389.jpg

Also have just received a set of EF9 shift linkages, an EF9 clutch cable and an EF8 Throttle Cable, they dont really require pics and I havnt cleaned them yet.

All things going well the motor will be removed tomorrow
  • man i wish i had a shop
  • I wish I did as well, luckily I have use of that one during the week. Its our main electrical workshop for the site I work at so I make time for some home jobs from time to time
I technically made money rebuilding those knuckles
  • IT HAS BEGUN

Haha, im ready to see this thing back in one piece, extra power will be a bonus!
I hate working on cars :!:

No major progress, loom is all disconnected, A/C removed, all fluids drained, intermediate shaft and passengers driveshaft removed.
Only things stopping me from pulling the motor are 2 engine mounts and drivers side drive shaft.

I found a whole lot of rust under the battery tray so put some rust converter on it, also painted up the radiator support etc as it was looking a little worse for wear.

Picked up the engine hoist earlier so motor will come out tomorrow, then I can clean up the engine bay and start on the wiring.

Looking good, I Didn't use a crane to take my engine out. I Jacked it up real high and let gravity do the work

Haha well this one is free, one of my old mans mates lent it to us. Will need it to lift the B18c off the trailer too

    lol
  • Frustrating Morning so far, ball joints are seized in so cant get driveshaft out, going to remove LCA and everything to do it, cock.

In the mean time fixed more rust and removed A/C:

Will have to put fan and all that back in once if done the wiring for the OBD1 swap

  • Flat mate had this old Shift Light Lying around, its HUGE!! but I can pull it apart, hide the circuit board under the dash somewhere and extend the wires to the LED that I will mount somewhere discreet, perhaps in an Airvent.

Reason behind this is OEM rev counter displays to 8000rpm, B18c revs to 8400rpm or something

    517.jpg

Also the motor and all other parts arrived at work today, will get it up to my parents house tomorrow and pull the gearbox off to do seals and inspect the clutch, will also do cambelt etc and all other bits that need doing.

Engine mounts should have landed in the country today so hopefully will have them by Saturday.

It looking promising to have it done by Xmas!! :D
  • HOORAY FOR UPDATES.
    looking good mang

Looking good andrew, I found a bit of bashing around the control arm, And a bit of heat and they pop out. you can use your original hubs with the 262mm discs and calipers. well Eg calipers and discs fitted on my hubs fine

We just applied some downward pressure to the LCA (upward to the UCA) and knocked the side of the arm with a hammer and a drift. The shock just pops em straight out.

I have EF8/9 Front knuckles and EF9 Tie rod ends to put in, im going to do round and paint some bits in the engine bay after work today
