The roof is coming along quite nice and i cannot wait to see color on this roof. We've gotten side tracked with customers cars (i guess we have to make money at some point  ) so it will probably be another week or so before we see this wagon in red again.
Also i have some rust on the pass frame in the engine bay. I am thinking a bat had exploded at one point. So i still need to sand blast that frame and still have some shaving on the engine bay (not crazy like my blue wagon just some minor shaving).
Dude, very nice build progress!! I'm at creeping up on the brakeline/wire/fuel tuck... I KNOW I'm going to be stuck when it comes to the wiring lol....
the low spots on your roof are coming from lack of bracing on the under side....every time you guys push on it to block the primer you're pushing down and im guessing you're getting some oil canning on the roof....hooray for bodywork!
Actually this thing is braced more than and standard wagon roof. also always let the block do the work for you never force it.
My guess is when we sealed the bracing to the roof it sucked the roof down creating several low spots as you can see. They will be fixed just takes time and work.
WOWWWWWWWWW!! Nice piece of work! You really put your imagination to work man! Very nice! I wish I could kill my quater panel rust like that!! Great job!

I've got to thank Okiewagon 3 (Mike) at Ambitions Auto Salon for the larger portion of the body work....while i could have gotten by i've let the true artist work on this one. Thanks again Mike for all the hardwork so far!
What's the reason for not painting the surrounding panels at the same time? (I'm not criticizing, just curious.)
To break it up. By doing this it helps with keeping the over spray down, which keeps the trash particles down. And so when leaning over my shirt or the hose doesn't hit the wet paint on surrounding areas.

I figured there must be some logic to it but didn't know enough about the process to guess.
Nice to see my old wagon getting a makeover! I am a proud previous owner! I just didnt have the resources to do what you are doin now. But i found its replacement and i couldnt ask for more! But i will say.... I miss the a/c and seatbelt retractors. My new RT is base 88 model! Keep up the good work.

hello greddy turbo'd z6
Got started on the wire tuck
This is where the wiring will be coming into one spot into the engine bay
Hole i cut from engine bay
More wiring....some cutting and lengthening of wiring
Oh man shes so far down....shes stripped to the bone
I also started on my power windows, power locks, power mirrors, and power sun roof wiring
I could not have done this without the very handy manual.......a complete must have the best book ever
Another round of primer
Then Block
We seem to be having problems with the inner structure of the roof causing low spots
Re prime
i know they are not extremely exciting but its where we are at
love the roof. great work!
