Made a trip over to the Couv yesterday and picked up four old skool rims for $80 that were listed on Craigslist. Then wandered into the Pick N Pull to look for one of the plastic plates that goes behind the inside door handle. No 4th generation wagons there, but I remembered that the DX sedans had manual door locks and the plates around the door handle should match the wagon. The hatchbacks, and CRXs have that tab door lock latch in the handle while the LXs have the power window switch there and they are not the same as our wagons. Found a DX sedan that has the manual lock tabs in the top of the door and the plate is the same, but these were black. I figured, "what the hey?" I would paint them to match my existing plates to use them.
As I was leaving I noticed an earlier wagon and decided to look it over since Honda didn't always change the components radically in its four-year upgrades to the Civics. Turned out the plates were brown, perfect for my cream wagon, and a perfect match. Now my interior work is done with the new upholstery, carpets and missing bits restored. Gotta thank this forum for helping me to stay on track and back to scouring the wrecking yards for stuff. I used to do this when I was restoring Morris Minor Travelers and pickups. Old habits die hard, friends. See you at the junkyards.
I actually abused my Wagon this weekend. I entered the RubeLab RubeRally, a scavenger hunt for alternative-fuel vehicles. I took second place and gassed one battery; the winner was a CNG car. I still think they should've been disqualified for using a non-renewable fuel.
Reinstalled my front mud flaps. Now I have a full set on. Changed passenger side visor to one with a vanity mirror (for the wifey), hooked up the dvd player for the kids.
over this past weekend i finally finished installing my front and rear energy suspension control arm bushings and shock mount bushings.
100% better feel over worn and separated rubber bushings(they were all shot when i got the car).
put on my new front bumper today...brand new o.e.m. and made a new front lip....ran out of time at work so the bottom is still wavy but ill get that straight tomorrom night along with the rear lip installed.....any who enjoy.

not feeling the lip yet...? got to see the finish product...
Replaced the 26 year old rear shocks with KYB GR-2's. Found out that aftermarket replacement entails a bit more work..but lesson learned and a SMOOTHER Ride!
Next? New rotors/pads and rear shoes..was too tired after my 3.5 hour lesson on wagon shocks!
Started my 'back from the dead' tune up. Only got the ignition stuff changed. My older sister is in town from Florida so I had to cut my time with Jane short. Probably finish tomorrow, weather permitting.
with out a doubt man...just couldnt finish it last night..work was kickin me out. i just wanted to at least get it mounted up so i could finish it tonight. got it almost done ill post pics tomorrow when i get it all done.
final lip is done.... trimed the front lip down alot and got it straight, and used the old front lip and a heat gun to put it on the rear bumper. iam pretty happy with it. enjoy...
Had the wagon towed to the shop...finally. Gave up on trying to find time to do the clutch job myself. Bought a clutch kit online for $119 shipped. Should have the wagon back Saturday or Monday. Can't wait to drive stick again!
rear lip looks pretty kool... i think the passwordjdm ef front lip is probably the best looking lip for the ef's
agreed. i wanted to screw off with this one cause id really like to find the jdm front and go that route. but for the time being this is how it sits lol
On my RT4WD I replaced the 2 bulbs in the front right turn signal lense. Added some oil. Still need to replace a broken cylinder head cover bolt, it leaks a little oil.
The big banjo bolt on the fuel filter is leaking, so I have a replacement coming for that. I had a new fuel filter and alternator put in last week and they screwed up the banjo somehow.
I've been so bored. I might order up a new thermostat and radiator cap too.
Also looking for some kind of 14" rim to possibly replace the RT's and still utilize the great tires that came with those rims. HX's would be the first choice. Also looking into some 7th gen Civic hybrid wheels, or some 1st gen Insight rims. If I can sell my Mugen MR5's, I might get a set of white 15" rims for it. I might even send the RT's off and have them enlarged to 15 x 6.5". We'll see.
I also got my gf's brown DX wagon going again. Got tired of messing with old ass distributors, so I paid for a new distributor from dizzyking on Ebay. Also went ahead and replaced the fuel filter on it as well. It still has issues with the ignition switch I think. Might look into bypassing it somehow with a switch.
this morning i put some 2wd springs and struts on the car and replaced the rear compensator arms with 2 new Honda genuine ones and at that time i had only enough time to the shop to put in 1 ES RTA bushing. after all that was finished i put on my summer tires and did an alignment.

Now if we just build this giant wooden badger...
I bought a wagon, and got it running
Then I cleaned the shit out of it. Removed the tint. Painted the wheels. Can't wait to get some funds...
This week she'll get a nice tune up, and hopefully all the paperwork to put her on the street.
