as a double check on the water behind the tail lights, check the body sealer up near your rear door hinges. If you want, pull the rear most trim holding up the roof liner and check the metal just under/around the hinges. It's super common for the sealer to dry out and crack and leak through or near the hinges. My current 91 RT is suffering from this. I thought the gaskets would fix it, no dice, gonna have to grind out and replace the body sealer for a legit fix. In the meantime, threw up some weird glue I had and it seems to have slowed it down a ton :)

Love the car, super jealous of those storage pieces in the back :)

Cheers for the advice dude, will make sure to have a look.

I love the storage units as well!
I wonder what shipping would cost to send the rear interior of a beagle for example to the US, Iv had a few US guys asking me if I know prices.
Might see if I can find out.

Cheers mate, really liking your wagon as well. Especially that roof! :)

Received the cargo basket today and fitted it, very happy with it.

Im going on a quick trip away just after easter with user rti intrac, we'r heading to the wreckers that I mentioned in one of my previous posts.
So hope to actually make use of the cargo basket and bring back some goodies.

I would be into that, though probably more money than I could ever dream of spending.

PS What fisheye are you using? I use the olloclip a bit, probably overspent on it, but I dig it.

PPS That cargo basket is so awesome. Will have one on my wagon at some point, such a perfect look for these cars!

Also made some rear interior curtains today. They are originally out of a Toyota Estima, I just shortened the rail to fit and slightly changed the mounts.
The curtain colour matches the interior and fits in quite nicely, nothing over the top and a sweet mod for $5.

The rail is mounted to the top of the roof and the curtains also run on a wire at the bottom, mounted on the end of the cargo cover, so the curtains can slide open and closed without flapping around if the windows are open. Photo's don't really do them justice, but will get some better photos asap.

    That is all :)
    Cheers!

Where'd you get those curtains? Props to you for that amazing idea that I must copy

A bit of an update, on Tuesday/Wednesday me and Chris (tri intrac?) spent a 2days at the car wreckers in Horopito (the wreckers I posted photos about before), was such a sweet trip. Love that place.

A few photos on the way up.

    195.jpg

Last week I bloody bumper a parking pole, there is now a little dent on my left rear corner. So disappointed.
Chris told me that that panel can be removed and replaced quite easily, so I popped over to another wreckers and grabbed a straight one for a magical $8.
So stoked it can be replaced so easy, just need to repaint it but I have some colour matched paint in a can ready to go.

    196.jpg

So I only found a few parts at the wreckers, the coolest being a JAF badge.
I found another NZ AAA Badge but totally forgot to get it and left without it :(

    197.jpg

I scored some sweet cup holders. These cup holders are out of an Estima, the grey is slightly off from the shuttles interior but it should look quite nicely in place.
I am planning to mount them on the door front doors.

    198.jpg

Yet again out of an Estima, I removed an interior light with a clock. Shuttle's (or well mine?) only came with an interior light half way down the interior near the front of the passenger seats and its quite poor lighting, so I decided to get another one. I am planning to fit this one between the two sun visors, even though the colour is a light cream/grey and might seem off, its actually very close to the shuttles roof lining colour.

    199.jpg

For a while now I have been looking for a spoiler that I can mod to fit the shuttle, at the wreckers we found a rubber spoiler.
Its made out of a soft but durable rubber material and has a metal rod running through the middle as its frame/structure.

    201.jpg
    202.jpg

The spoiler wasn't on a car when I got it but through a bit of research I think that it is originally off an early model RS Escort.
    Looks exactly like this.

    203.jpg
    204.jpg

So the plan is to modify it now to fit, surprisingly it doesn't need much work. I just need to shorten it.
The plan is to cut a piece out off it so its the correct length and then glue/stick the cut of corner back on to the piece Im using, so that the corners remain the same shape. There might be a small light where I have joined the 2 parts together but thats ok, its not a show car. Im having fun.

I did a trial cut today and the glue I bought worked great. The cuts I did was with a saw and not perfect so the alignment wasn't the best.
I hope to use something a bit more accurate for cutting for a better result.

Thats about it really, didnt find much but was a sweet trip.
Shuttle went great, no over heating or anything. Used a bit of oil but no biggy.

Thats about it, cheers for reading.
Hopefully ill have some of the parts installed in the next few days.

    Dieter
    :)
  • Seems you get alot of parts from the salvage yard. I wish florida had a place called "The Wreckers". I would have all of my wagon needs....
  • r8edmr8edm Wagonist
Yep, well alot of parts from different cars seem to work for shuttles and there are usually a shuttle or 2 getting wrecked so it works out quite well.

Yesterday I used my cargo basket to move some of my rims to a storage room.
Thought id try and take a cool photo of it. So nice not having to put rims and tyres inside the car!

    Yeeaa mmmm naan, neither.
Im a bit um and ah about it.

I might just finish it off and put it in storage.
In a few months come back to it when the car is a different height and on some wheels and see if it suits then.
  • r8edmr8edm Wagonist
Quick photoshop of the car lowered, does look much better at this height but still not completely convinced.

Yeeaaa, it doesnt look good with the car at factory height.
Iv got some ofter ef shocks with lower springs so I might put them in for a change.

Cheers mate, im still a bit unsure about it.
Will see how it looks once its lowered.

Nice Beagle & Good work man...

I say keep it tall.. & off-road-able... Not feeling the spoiler either.. But maybe in person in would look better.
  • r8edmr8edm Wagonist
Im enjoying the 4wd and the height at the moment, but my plan was always to lower it.
Yep, not feeling the wing either. But ill test fit it again once its properly lowered and see if it looks better.
  • 666DAN666DAN Wagonist
Height and wheels look fantastic Dieter!
  • r8edmr8edm Wagonist
    Cheers dude :encouragement:

I just need to finish saving for the suspension then hopefully it can be that height all the time :)
