tophats are awesome man, is that with the option coils or???

I have a DC2 center console as well, but I dyed a tan one and it rubbed off really bad where the seat belt hits it, so I removed it.

Did you do anything to line it up against the wagon center console?

how do you like those wink mirrors? I am thinking of getting one
  • Thanks guys :) the tophats are going on with the coilovers, and the Teg center console isn't fitted quite right, I used a dremel wheel to cut the bottoms center piece of the original wagon console. I may redo it using the one I cut up as a test template. But it'd ok for now, I also might put something behind the Teg and civic pieces and plastic epoxy the two together. But it was all just eye balled.
I love the wink mirror is super rad, I love it, and it was only $20 which was a killer deal. Id suggest it to everyone.

I put a kenwood deck in yesterday, that my gf got for my birthday (which was yesterday) ;) also finished painting my interior.

More pics tomorrow, ill be putting in the 90-91 rounded cluster bezel. And maybe getting my subblie rails :)

Thanks for all the kind words guys!

Wow, major turn around and great come up! And that wink mirror looks beautiful. Mine is currently melted/sagging in my CRX. Had it for only a year!! I'll have to snap a pic and show you... Anyways, keep up the great work, definitely coming out nicely done.

Good progress, I like the color/wheels combo.
  • Didn't get my bezel or subie rails yet. Found something else Im saving for now.

But here a pic of my newly installed deck!
    56.jpg

So what im saving for (and hope to get Monday) are kyb gas shocks and dropzone coilovers off of an 87 accord. Which to my knowledge will work for the wagon, just so long as I have the tophats with them (so as not to blow the shocks)
Any arguments on that? Im hoping not.

So the tophats/shocks/coilovers will hopefully be installed Wednesday :)

Sending money tonight to get corner lights.

And hopefully have a new fender on Wednesday as well. Hell yes! That'll put my project so much closer :)

So after that's all done "Wednesday" ill have this left to do:

DA seats, 90-91 cluster housing, 97 subaru legacy rails and rack, camber kit front/rear, Volvo front lip, accord front lip flipped for rear, tint, paint, front prelude fogs, sub/ amp, short shifter and gt steering wheel, pw/pdl and exhaust.

Pretty dang close in quite a short period if you ask me. Haha.

Thanks man, I really appreciate it. I've been pretty dedicated to this thing. I seriously love it so much. And that's crazy about your wink. Luckily in Oregon it doesn't get that hot!!

lookin sharp. With the Accord struts, you are using the coilover as well from the Accord?

I only know for sure the strut works in front.
  • So I figured out How to mount the dc2 console correctly. The problem I was having was with the 2inch gap between the console and the radio housing.

Apparently you have to lift the console so it fits up snug to the bottom of the radio housing and screw the dc2 into the holes that are there for the original lower piece. Which deletes the lower part of the civic console entirely. Im going to give it a shot after work and see if it works. I've seen it done to where it looks so Damn good, hopefully Ill have good news tonight.

And im unsure about the accord rear shocks. Too many options! Not to say that's a bad thing :)

Wednesday will be D-DAY. (Drop day) it will it will be gewd...

Lookin forward to some pics of the DC2 console, dont be shy about taking lots of them!

with the rear, you have to stay wagon specific unless its a full body coilover.

Wagon rear struts are way shorter than any other oem strut.

When I switched from 88 style rear LCAs I only had some normal civic/crx rear struts to put on and with my coil over sleeves on all the way down, there was an inch or two gap in the rear
  • wagon gets dropped tomorrow.. SO STOKED! :D

im going out to try this console fitment thing again right now. pix IF I succeed. haha
  • well...

I sort of succeeded. basically I got the dc2 console to line up and stay in place.
    272.jpg

BUT, the 2 inch gap that was once on top is not on the bottom...
    273.jpg

my solution you ask? well let me show you.
    274.jpg
its sort of janky at the moment, but I used two pieces of cardboard and painted them to match.
Ill use some abs plastic when I can get it, but for now it works.

the OTHER issue is, since the front is lifted, so is the rest of console..
hence, the center where the e brake is doesnt line up flush now..

Im gonna figure this out. any suggestions?

I lost the link but a member on here had a pretty good solution.

He left the gap on top and took a piece of the center console from an EF hatch and I think cut it to fit? I remember it looked pretty good.

turned out great, did you end up going with your original struts?

dont cut the flaps, let them wear on theyre own!
  • Yep original struts and OPTION Coilovers
The ride is almost stock minus the mudflats grinding pavement
The tophats are so nice haha

Ill let the mudflaps grind themselves down
