What is that center console you have converted in there? Looks good..

It is from a 4th gen civic hatch. Doesn't fit exactly right, was thinking about removing it, I'll have to see once I start driving it again. Definitely going to put an arm rest in it, any ideas on which fits/looks the best?

Picked up some RUST-OLEUM Gloss Smoke Gray for the engine bay. I need to get a gravity feed spray gun yet, and I'll start painting the engine bay.

woah definetly back from the dead; where you been???

Well, the project started in PA. I moved to VA, into an apt from my parents house w/ garages (notice plural). In VA I got a storage shed I used as a garage. Spent most of my time working on a Jeep we had and spent all other time on my del sol. Didn't get out to the storage/garage as often as I wanted.

About a year later, bought a house with garage! Wagon spent most it's time sitting on the far side of the garage, worked on it here and there. One random garage-clean-up-day consisted of packing the wagon up and moving it outside, so I could actually use the garage for my daily, the del sol, which just hit 200k.

In parallel with the whole story I had my eye out for a z6 engine for a good price, finally found one semi local and pulled the trigger hard. Also as the original thread shows I had plans to build a b2, which delayed my decision making process.

Recently monies tightened up again, so the project will slow, if it wasn't slow enough for you already :P

Hopefully in the next few weeks I can pickup a gravity feed sprayer (kit) and get this engine in and running.

^ good to hear that someone else is as busy as me sometimes.
actually... that's not good to hear.
i wish there was more time for your wagon.
  • kyle h.kyle h. Wagonist
Yea, I neglected to mention all the work I've put into the house, totally turned this thing around, just in time for the housing market to flop.

Also, this has been a huge time suck:

Picture of the engine I picked up nearly 2 months ago. It feels like it's been two weeks. How bad ass is that valve cover? hah

And to clear my name for anyone that is looking at the dates of my posts....I have been busy like I tried to insinuate earlier...

    beautiful house, and wagon ...

Are you going to put the ITB's on that Z6?
  • kyle h.kyle h. Wagonist
Yes. I plan to get it running and registered and all that jazz, then swap the ITBs on after I judge status of the engine/my mood.

Actually dude on here up in hoodbridge, from DA WEDGE thread, really got my motivation moving in the right direction on this project.
  • DarrenDarren Wagonist

  • So this years moving right along. Met up with hoodbridge/da wedge this weekend. Ended up going out and buying some tools the next day to move along with bodywork and progress. Pulled the engine/tranny totally out after a quick garage clean up. Going to start prepping the engine bay for paint next.

    Dont give up!
  • hoodbridge was telling me about some premixed metallic clear at some of the local parts stores. I was checking it out last night, might look pretty good on top of my gray. 22 bucks for a can of it though, and it was laquer, my base is enamel.
  • been a little distracted from the project...

this is what I did today

good to see some updates on your wagon.
you should sell the "rover" to fund the wagon.
  • I actually tried a few times. Everyone seems to be scared of them.

    203.jpg

Here's a pic of the last adventure that day...
  • aha...no fishing rod...
    thats whats missing...
    : )
  • It's been so cold, wet and miserable lately. I haven't even cleaned the RR off, let alone make any progress on the wagon. I picked up some black paint for some of the brackets under the hood. I checked out some prices to paint the car, from a regular auto body paint supplier. Might be looking into a cheaper solution, that rustoleum turned out ok, and looks good. I'd love to add a bit of green/seafoam to it for the body.

I need to get those white plastic clips that hold the windshield/wiper cowel on, I found them at majestic honda, but it'd be nice to get them from the junk yard. Does anyone know if they are even recoverable, from a junker? Mine all disintegrated, but they were exposed to the sun all summer.

Last but not least I need to take the del sol in for inspection this month, already half way through and I can't seem to put the time together to get it to a shop.

They are from a honda 959, w/ a hacked up obx intake manifold.

Did you mean a Honda 929 bike?

Because I can't find much info on a Honda 959...
