Anyone have some tips on ripping the stock motor out? I can't for the life of me get the bitch out and I don't know really where to start.
I'm hoping to have some friends over to help that have done swaps before but seeing I've never done it I'm pretty much hopeless lol.
I can't even get the axels out of the hub and I hopefully have all the hoses and what not disconnected.
Any help is really appreciated.
Single cam to single cam is easy. If you're going non vtec to vtec than you'll need a jumper harness. All the mounts will line up so just pull the old motor by taking the main bolts out of the motor mounts and unplugging the harness on the driver and passenger side. They will be two big round plugs. After that the motor should pull right out. Oh yeah and disconnect the radiator hoses.
what about the axels? don't i have to take that out? and yeah it is a SOHC to SOHC (d15b6).
Also what about the hoses that connect to the fuel filter and the other bottle on the passenger side?
if you still have my number give me a call i have done it about 30 or so times......... that should qualify me ?
I was thinkin' about it lol. What're you doing tomorrow? I would like to have this done tomorrow so i can get the money from my hatchback to put into the wagon! lol
There are two hoses that connect to the firewall that need to come off too. Fuel filter has one that needs to come off and those axles are going to have to come out to make it easier. Reusing the stock shift linkage?
and the guy gave me like 4 keys that went to the wagon. who keeps 4 extra keys? gahdamn lol
keys are a good thing to have, i just had to break into my teg and take my lock out to get a new key made so i could have keys becasue i lost the only one i had...

if you bring your pink slip to honda they can make you your original key for like 5 or 6 bucks, i'm assuming acura is the same way.

hw do you take those off the firewall though?
Yeah i'm tryin to ge tthe axels off today and stuff, hopefully get it out.
Also yes, i plan on re-using the stock shift linkage.

yeah haha, if you take a key and slide it where the window meets the seal and slide it all the way down.
The window flexes enough for you to fit your arm down there lol.
Ok than your going to have to hammer out the pin thats connecting the shift linkage to get the old one off. The hoses on the firewall come off with some pliers and a flat head screwdriver. Pull the pieces that are holding the hoses on with the pliers and than try to slide them off by wedging the flathead between the hoses and the connection and wiggling them off.
Well I got the motor out but noticed the d15b6 has some more hoses than the b2? Is the b6 even obd0? I'm so frustrated at this point its really getting to me haha
Was it DPFI? Your main hoses are going to be the 2 radiator hoses, 1 that's connected to the brake booster, 2 to the firewall, and than the couple that are connected to another piece on the firewall. I forgot the name of it, it also has a plug that goes to the wiring harness. You're going MPFI?
No I'm not going mpfi, but there are hoses that go from the oil filter to the intake manifold on the mpfi but not on the d15b2 that was dpfi so I have no where to put those. I'm getting fed up with getting almost no where in the past like 3 days and am contimplating paying someone to do it for me lol.
As it stands right now, the motor is out and I don't know what to do lol.
Yeah, the main hoses are named in my last post are the only ones that are connected to the shell/chassis itself. All the other hoses should be from the block to the head or intake mani to the head. Just play with it a lil before getting frustrated. I feel your pain, my wagon has been down since august and I've had the motor since september but barely put it in last week with a skateboard and two jacks cuz the guy that was suppose to help, flaked. Now the harness doesn't match. It's frustrating but just stay cool and stay positive. If I could make it to Oregon I'd help but for now this is all I can do.
haha yeah man I deff appreciate it!. I'll do some research but so far it looks as if the b6 wont match up to the intake manifold. so I'm either going to wire to mpfi and put the b6 in or just try and fix the b2 and put it in. But I don't know what exactly is wrong with the b2. Oldskool says that its a head gasket but I donno how a blow head gasket would make it so there would be oil going on the spark part of the spark plug. If that is the only thing then i'll keep that in there and call it good.
anyone have any ideas why there would be oil on both sides of the spark plug? I know there is oil on one side because the spark plug gaskets on the valve cover gasket are bad. But i can't seem to find out why it is on the other part that goes into the engine.
also the tranny wont come off of the b2, can anyone help me with that? I took the five bolts that hold it together and the thing wont budge lol. I think i need to take the starter off to get it off?
Anyone have a step by step with pictures to wire from dpfi to mpfi? I've found one without any pictures and I've searched here and suprisingly there isn't a diy on it or I've missed it.
Yeah the bottom bolt on the starter also goes through and into the block. So take the starter off. I think(don't qoute me on this) but I think that there is a bracket underneath the motor that holds the tranny and engine together. I know the B series have it but not too sure with the D series. But for sure the starter has to come off to get the tranny seperated.
Yeah i got the bracket off. I'm doing an mpfi swap, what does the eavc sensor plug look like?
After making that longer I'm done with wiring the harness and just need to do the pinning into the ECU.
Then drop the motor in and what nots. hopefully get it running seeing by monday I wont have a car lol.
Any help is appreciated!
so I'm putting the wiring harness back in, which I don't know what goes where really so any help is appreciated lol, and I need to put a mount in, then the axels, finish wiring, connect the hoses, try to turn her over, and hope she runs! lol.
Got kicked outta my friends front yard finally when it started to stop raining. His dad came out and started cussing at me telling me to leave lol.
Anyone have some pictures of sensors/ hose diagrams that i can use?
also think im missing the throttle cable braket on the mpfi intake manifold. any suggestions? lol
So I need some help I got everything wired and stuff, go to turn over the engine and i get a horrible noise. Can you please watch the video and tell me what it might be?
Does the fuel pump come on? You should hear a weezing noise when the key is on. If not that than it might be spark. Check all spark plugs, wires, dizzy everything electronic. Process of elimination. Sorry I can't be of any further assistance but if it's not the fuel pump than it could be spark.

Yeah its getting fuel because i went to turn it over once and saw that gas was pouring out the fuel filter. I need to check spark though.
I also have this thing that needs a plug on my intake manifold, i'll try to find a pictures of it i forgot to take one. Its some weird cylinder thing toward the distributor of the intake mani. I'll try to find a pic.

Yeah I've went off multiple MPFI swap pages and I got that much down for the most part, but thanks!
