yes, it is recommended you get a new VC gasket, they are only like $16. and you dont HAVE to use high-temp paint, but it wouldnt hurt. i just used brake pad paint and it is very sturdy.
Car is up and running on Chrome (lame). Looking to get the AEM EMS going soon but we were having distributor problems. Car feels great at 7 psi. Built motor is running good.
More boost and more antilag and more wagon attack coming soon!!
Wait, wha? AEM makes an EMS for OBD0 cars? I had no idea. Now Im going to have to do some looking, although Zdyne may still be my first choice for price and use on my Civic.
Have you tried the ZDyne setup, and what made you go with the AEM setup?
AEM released the OBD0 honda version in '06 or something. I got a good deal on it, so that is why I will be using it.
Wagon is currently on jackstands getting the following upgrades:
New poly upper control arm bushings
New poly lower control arm bushings
New poly shock mount bushings
New poly crossmember bushings
New poly motor mounts
I am taking the car to Cody at LoveFab in early August to have the EMS tuned. Wagon attack 2 video shoot is scheduled for the end of august.
I have had a leak from my oilpan for the past 50,000 miles. I tried new oil pan gaskets and it keeps coming back. I have concluded that my oil pan must be warped.
WTB: civic 4wd oil pan
The 4wd oilpan is different than the normal d-series because of the AWD trans.
I had a high rpm overheating problem in boost for the past 18 months. Finally pulled the head and sent it to the machine shop. WARPED!!! They decked it and I put in back on with a new head gasket and my overheating problem is gone. I am so stoked.
Put it on the dyno at the West Michigan Honda Meet to get a baseline. 187 whp at 8 psi.
In two weeks I am taking it to ProFunction in Chicago to get a serious tune with more boost. Looking to boost 20 psi as long as the turbo is still efficient and the DSM injectors are not maxed. I will post up dyno charts when it is all done.
I like builds like this. Reason for the OBd0 AEM not working with the OBD1 dist, is the difference in the pickups between the two dist. The obd0 software will not read the obd1 pickups. Sorce you and obd0 dist and go back to the AEM. Chrome isnt the best to use. Nice build though

Exactly. OBD0 distributors have a 16-tooth pickup, IIRC, where OBD1/OBD2 dizzys have 24.
This is a very inspiring build, mostly because it's the exact route I'm currently taking - using the HF manifold, IHI Probe/MX6 turbo, and 390cc DSM injectors. I plan on using a side-mount or top-mount intercooler instead though.
Keep up the good project work, I can't wait for updates!

I also put a bit of vinyl onto the wagon.
I assume this is for the rear? Where did you get them?
i have a feeling billboard is going to love it.
sun roof came with the car when I bought it 3 years ago.
I believe it is aftermarket for sure. It will tilt up and you can remove the glass altogether.
Front crossmember. Where the radius rods meet the crossmember. Bought them at Summit.

you always seem to do good work on your hatch.
