Had a busy weekend at Bamtech. Since she's just about ready to fire up, it's time to spend a little money and start true assembly. I don't know if you can tell by the pics, but now the front is lifted another 2" via tophat spacers.
I also installed the full ES polyurethane bushing kit up front. EX steering knuckles got new bearings, balljoints, rotors, pads, and Russell's stainless lines.
There's less than zero tolerance at this extension. My theory is that the weight of the powerplant will settle the suspension enough to allow steering!
I'll have the alternator and the front axles/ seals today, picking up the clutch tomorrow. I'm hoping to have the engine back in next weekend!
Just a note: the Diamond Racing wheels that I bought don't fit without grinding the caliper bracket. I supposea wheel spacer might work, but I don't like spacers.
Last. night we installed the flywheel, clutch, and transmission. Put on new alternator and belt, drilled and reinstalled the intake s-pipe. Painted the valve cover and some mounts, so it should be ready to drop in tonight or tomorrow...
Well, it looks like I'll have to lower the front just a little. Dad and I set the engine in last night and pushed it out of the shop and back in (to settle the suspension). It's still making contact, darnit.
I wonder if the Skunk2 upper arms offer enough adjustment to counter this?
I was wondering the same thing. For some reason, I remember thinking it wouldn't work, but I can't remember why. Maybe i was thinking there would be too much positive camber, but then again, with that much lift I'm sure your camber is WAAAAYYY negative right now. I'm sure you could check out a couple name brand adjustable upper control arms, and most of them should tell you the range of adjustment. From what I could find real quick, the tuner series allows for 4 degrees either way, and the pro series allows 5 degrees either way.
Or you could just hack up another set of upper control arms and make custom extended ones. Or hell, hack up a set of UCA's and 2 sets of cheap rear camber adjusters and make your own set of adjustable UCA's!!!

This week I've ordered a bunch of parts, would like to make strides this weekend.
Got new bearings, ball joints, rotors and pads for my EX knuckles, also Russell ss lines.
Got ES poly bushing kit
Got jrsc parts
i must say your leading the pack.....
ohhh here it is as a roof mount
DAAAAYUM!!!
Lookin' good, Bam!
Cool ride.
I've seen a few unknown (to me) ones driving around lately.

I did not realize the calipers were hitting also.
This is why I don't think the 3" Spacers will work.. I am gonna get him to make me another set anyways..
I'll let you know shortly if 2 will fly. FWIW, the tophat spacers I made are waaay easier and quicker to do than machined spacers.

Right now I'm hooking things up.Shift cables, fuel lines, heater hoses etc. Got to finish the wiring harness too, getting tuned 3 weeks from today.
an someone show me a picture of stock exhaust routing? I'm unsure of where/how the pipe gets across the driveline.
I'm going to try 1/2" less lift, see what that gets me.
Interesting, but no time for that right now. I have a deadline to meet!
Plus, when this is done we'll know how much one can lift the suspension and how.
It's all going to work, just takes a little extra time.
