Ok so no drive shaft yet. But i will be comming soon, and i need it.

Running 450cc injectors. FMIC. Apexi VafcII. Stage 5 clutch. Gsr b18c1 with 250 miles on it since rebuilt (almost blew up during the first turbo tune) new rings, headgasket and rod bearings. CRV tranny. Traction bars!

Its all a really tight fit. the radiator sits at an angle. no washer fluid system.

The car runs good right now. Its tunned for the 500 mile break in period so it only revs up to ~6k and the vtec is disable. Running gas right now. but i'll be tunning it for e-85 after the break in.

Next additions will be.... Blow-off valve, drive shaft, and much much more.

Ill try and get back on more often to answer any question.

In the third picture you can see the traction bars on the right, they are horizontal and there is light going between the front bar and the bottom of the bumper. You can see the output shaft on the left. It also has a custom Hydro to Cable that was made using a pedal assembly

    Crazy! More pics please!

Have you thought about running the washer bottle inside the front bumper on the left hand side? Thats the stock position for an EF5 with headlight squirters.

  • dboxer245dboxer245 Band Wagon
Yea its a 5 speed tranny.

Im in the south denver area! You around here too?

Grey helped a bit with the install. But hes really busy with his RHD. Adam check your PM and hit me back there.

Its really tight even in the bumper area with all the piping. Ill have to find a small Washer res at the junk yard or something

Nice. Finally another one lives. You beat me to the turbo part though :D

What are your plans for a driveline? The way I did mine was dirt cheap...as long as you have the CRV driveline and rear diff.
  • turbo_tegturbo_teg Council Member
ya shenrie had an awsome idea on his driveline im still impressed how well it worked.
  • dboxer245dboxer245 Band Wagon
Honestly, im thinking about just using the stock rear diff and driveshaft. Maybe just fab a conversion block. If you bust out the math on that extra 20ft per mile with the difference in gear ratios it works out to .12 inches in tire diameter. and thats really not much, at all. my audi's tires are probably off more than that and its just fine.......

I was gonna do that too, but my boss said Id regret it. Hes no slouch when it comes to custom builds, especially with gear ratios.

If you have the diff and driveline its pretty easy to finish it up. Some shims to lower the diff, a little hole augering on the diff hanger and shorten the crv driveline, flare one end out and slipfit the other piece after cutting to lenght and take your tie and do a nice bead around the joint. We also drilled a few holes around the dl and welded it up as a little extra reinforcement. Ive done a season of autox with 6500 launchs for each run.

    ^ i want rt4wd
    dboxer: any numbers?
  • 5 speed tranny wow

are you gonna attache it to make rt4wd? is the crv diff same as the civic diff as far as gear ratio is concern? i always wanted to go b-serries rt4wd. my waggy is 88rt4wd. cant wait to see your drivetrain finish.

    more power to you.

  • Hey Everybody!

Well i finally got logged in. So ill be posting some more new pics. I blew the engine about 3 weeks ago while running ~27 lbs of boost. But i have some great photos of the engine mounts and such that ill get up here. Engine has been torn down and i've replaced the broken parts (piston landing broke out). So check back soon.

What kind of times did was it running with the setup? Sounds like a beast.
  • I have no idea about times. I would guess when i blew it up i was pushing about 22-24lbs of boost which would equate on a horsepower and 1/4 mile calc to 410hp and a 1/4mile at 11.7 at a mile high (in the mile high city)

    http://www.zealautowerks.com/horsepower.html

But ill run about 8.5 lbs of boost when im done building it. My 99 hatch that had a GSR turbo with 8.5lbs of boost had about 240whp and was a little faster than a C6 corvette (400hp). ill put some pics up in the next post

    Get to work!

Everyone wants to see this thing in action!
  • ok got some more work done. the other pics are from about a week ago.

Can i edit the post thread title??

I shaved the engine bay. It was pretty easy with good results. There are a few harnesses that need to be lengthened to pull the fuse box thru to the passenger kick panel. If you want some more pics of that i can take some.

    151.jpg

Here are some pics of the front engine mounts I can take some better pictures so you would be able to get the perfect location of the passenger side mount because that one had to be removed and replaced

heres the passenger side mount has to be welded on. camera is right above where the radiator goes (if you need a point of reference)
    152.jpg
And again with the camera a little further infront of the car
    153.jpg
This pic was taken from the passenger side of the car looking downward look (notice the side of the shock tower on the left of the photo)
    154.jpg
Looking straight down on the mount. Shock tower in the bottom left
    155.jpg

Ill try to get some pics of the tranny mount tomorrow.

This is the Drivers side mount. Using a DA "engine to engine mount bracket" makes the mount sit at a weird angle so i used some washers between the mount(Aluminum Hasport) and the DA" engine to engine mount bracket" to level it out

    good to see you're back.
why did you move the pass. mount?
  • had to be moved. The stock mount sits too far back to work with the CRV tranny
  • what year and type crv tranny im also trying to do this build but not sure what tranny to use
  • DAAAAAAAmn SO SICK!
