  • I do, too. I think there's too much evidence that they knew what they were doing to just delete a suspension component. But plenty of people who are better mechanics than me would just leave it off.

But the part is $100 at honda and it doesn't really seem to do much so idk.

Depends; do you want your wagon to operate how it's engineers designed it to operate?

    Kinda makes me chuckle. Hmmmm...

monster, I've seen them with and without that counterweight. This may not be accurate, but i THINK the '88s didn't have it and '89 on did. I don't think you'll notice much difference. It's just there to dampen some harmonic vibe.
If you look at my fool's gold thread you can see where I fixed mine with windshield urethane.

That's what I am thinking about doing to the rear dif mount also. Thanks man

Picked these up locally for $30. Now I can go through drive throughs :)
  • 330.jpg

My catalytic converter and upper differential mount! Time to do work.
  • Got some head from my buddy for doing a swap to his car :) later addition to the wagon

    368.jpg

plus I replaced his speakers with new ones, but his where still good just ghetto wiring(which I can't understand how people fuck up wiring up a sterro), but I told him to let me have em...got a plan for rear speaker pods :)

That's a hell of a barter system you have going up there.
  • Well I did half the work today, I got the trailing arm bushing out, and replaced with the new ones. Ran into some issues, but nothing to bad. Also my resonator came in! So the exhaust we be right after I get done with the upper differential bushings.

Everything went good untill this happened...

    395.jpg

Also I noticed that one of the dog bones was slightly bent..is this ANYTHING to be worried about? *One of the right obviously*

    396.jpg

Hopefully I will finish tomorrow...and hopefully I will fix the strut problem..

Lol tell me about it man!
  • Went to the junk yard today and got a new dog bone. I didn't get to finish the job today though. I did get the upper dif mounts drilled out though, and I picked up a factory radio with a casette player in it so I can listen to my phone. Will defiantly finish tomorrow.

He seems to be quite friendly....;)

Love what you're doing to the wagon man!
What is your future plan for the engine? Boost it? Swap it?
  • When I went to the junk yard yesterday to get a new dog bone, I asked the lady if I could bring my torch to get it out. Well she said no and here was my solution.

    422.jpg

My next problem was the bolt broke in the strut nut , and my solution to that was to cut the damn nut off.

    423.jpg

Then I had to wait till the AM to go to home depo to get some new hardware, but now everything is in. Didn't get picture of the upper differential mounts after I drilled them, but I drove it to the exhaust shop and damn can I tell the difference.

    424.jpg

    425.jpg

    426.jpg

    427.jpg

And now she is on all fours again :)

Well I'm wanting to do koni/gc with some secert rims :) and then either build the d, b series awd, or h2b awd. I do want to do boost though.
  • Installed the new/old radio.

    464.jpg

Also got my Vibrant cat, resonator, and muffler installed.

    465.jpg

The car rides so much better with the upper dif mounts and the Energy Suspension RTA bushings. BUT now I have a new problem...my blower motor is not working. So i'll be fixing that tomorrow hopefully.
  • Today I was starting to check the voltage of the blower motor, and as I stuck the volt meter rod into the plug the damn thing kicked on. So I guess my problem is fixed for now.

Next issue is my car has been smoking a little. I went to investigate what could be the issue, and I found oil in my spark plug tubes. So after work I'll pick up some tube seals. I also need a distributor O-ring, because mine is shot. Sorry no wagon porn today...was in a hurry because I have some Calculus homework.
  • Replaced the spark plug tube seals and the distributor O-Ring yesterday.

    538.jpg

Also tried to clean up the oil build up...one day I will own a clean engine bay.

    539.jpg

    540.jpg

Well the previous owner was to cheap to go buy the $2 O-Ring, so he decide to use some gasket sealer shit...

    541.jpg

    542.jpg

After all was said and done, a couple of friends and I drove to the skate park in Nashville. When I parked I looked down and saw I finally hit 150k :)

    543.jpg

But now my car is starting to sputter on acceleration sometimes..so probably going to have to replace the rotor and cap. Then after that I can hopefully save for my suspension and wheels. Also I snagged a job at a local body shop! Pretty excited about that, so maybe paint job later on down the rode.
  • Well I have been saving money for my suspesion set up and wheels so that is why I haven't been updating this. But I have had an issue with my car. On the interstate my roof broke, it shinks in now. So i am going to fix that, and install my oem roof rack while the liner is off.

This is where I park at school, so no dumb ass college kids hit me car and drive away lol..

    318.jpg

I had to changed my buddies clutch on his eg...he totally fried his clutch lol.

    319.jpg

    320.jpg
  • Got my headliner out, and will be fixing my sinking roof at work today.

    371.jpg

    372.jpg

You can see where the adhesive broke.

    373.jpg

    374.jpg

Lost my windshield washer tube down in the body...but I ended up working it back up...carefully

    375.jpg

    Gotta love ratcheting wrenchs <3

    376.jpg

Hopefully i'll get it fixed at work...stay tuned.
  • Well the roof got fixed, I just havn't had time to get pictures..because of school and rugby...

I ordered a oem roof rack from realtimefun...should be here tomorrow.
  • Roof rack came in, and I finally got it in! So excited....

I used a piece of string to try and align the front good.

    723.jpg

    724.jpg

    725.jpg

    726.jpg

My roof rack came with the factory screws, and I went out and bought some 1/4 lock washers and nuts.

    727.jpg

    728.jpg

Picked up this stuff from work. It will work to keep the water out.

    729.jpg

    730.jpg

    And it's finally finished :)

    731.jpg
  • I have one more maintenance thing to do before I can start truly saving for suspension and wheels. Going to do the brakes, and probably going to clean the TPS and FITV since I just did that on my buddies car. Stay tuned for this weekend.

Also it rained today, and the rack doesn't leak! Woohoo, so now I can put my headliner back in.

Love the Fit wheels on the wagon, roof rack came out good
  • Thanks man. I like the fit wheels, but they won't look to good when it's lowered, so they gotta go.
  • JDMWago666JDMWago666 Senior Wagonist
Why lower it though? Wagon looks nice and clean at the stock height. That's just my opinion though. Fit wheels might look good when it's lowered, what other wheels are you thinking about getting?
  • TerminusVoxTerminusVox Senior Wagonist
I haven't seen an application of those Fit wheels I didn't like. Good job on the rack!

That is just how I like my cars. I don't like it high in the air, and I never will take this off road. I'm looking at some Memoryfab M Technica Turbo 16X8.5

I like the fit wheels, and they are in amazing condition, but I do not want to rock them. And thanks man, I was stressing about it for awhile lol.
  • monster dmonster d Wagonist
Well my last final is tomorrow, and I'll be done with my first semester of college :D..and to start my summer out right for the wagon I am buying a mint civic lx sedan 1990 to convert everything to power on my car. Pretty excited :)
  • Looking good, likin those wheels. Piece of advice find somewhere else to park, dead cherry blossom flowers are very bad on paint jobs..
  • quartersquarters Council Member
Can we get some more pics of your exhaust system, specifically the rear section. also, what are your thoughts on the sound it makes now? i have only a magnaflow resonator and it's way to loud.
