so what will you be moving onto now?

honda fit since its the new generation wagon?
  • JakerJaker familEE
No. In fact some time in the next couple months, I'll be Honda-less for the 1st time in about 25 years, ever since I bought my 1st car, a 1986 Honda Civic in August of... gulp... 1986!

I'll be sure and chime in once I have the Wagon's replacement home. Probably sometime late next week.

In the meantime, enjoy a couple pics of my "other" daily driver (it's for sale too :( ):

    325?

Going to be an ST ride?
  • ragenasianragenasian Moderator
Hey Jaker don't know if I can help you with that or if shipping would kill the deal but those things are all over the junkyards here. If there is something you might need don't hesitate to hit me up. I get pretty good hookups at the military strip yard here, and some of the soldiers are about to come back with money to burn so they are going to all be blowing their downrange cash on new cars. I expect the strip yard to fill up again pretty soon.

I'd love a euro M3 instrument cluster. Something out of a 94-95 would be great with somewhere around 130,000 miles (or kilometers) would be great. I'd also love an M3 front bumper, but that'd be killer expensive to ship (but let me know anyways).

Let me know on the cluster as soon as you can, as mine is currently very flaky and I am about to pull the trigger on a US spec M3 one.

Yup! 325is. It's already a DSP car, and pretty soon will be SM. Sometime in the next 2-3 years it'll jump all the way to XP with an LS2 swap.
  • LowFlyin'LowFlyin' Moderator
Have a friend with an LS1 swapped FC RX-7. Built for E-Mod, on 315's at all four corners...thing is a beast!

    ...but surprisingly easy to control.

I'd have loved to do an FC or FD LSx swap car, but the FCs around here are total basket cases for the most part, and the FDs are still too expensive (both to buy and to replace parts on). However, they have better suspension and they're a couple hundred pounds lighter for the most part. I think I'm going to have fun-a-plenty with my 325. I expect to build it to around 2,600-2,650 lbs and have somewhere in the range of 400 rwhp - 400 ft/lbs torque with it. I'll be running 285s on the front and either 305s or 315s on the back.

I raced it for the 1st time last weekend. I absolutely loved it. It was sooo easy to drive. The setup was not optimal (as I found out later when I saw the 2nd pic). I've increased the rear spring rate from 300 to 450 lbs and stiffened the front sway bar to full stiff since then. We'll see if that settles it down any. I'm running the BC Championships this weekend (3 day event).

so i take it yer buddy is gunna try to rebuild the wagon? nice bimmer mang!
  • Hey, I have a couple questions about your rwd wagon. Is there a way to change the final drive on the rear diff to a normal d-series one? Did you use the wagon one on the lsd?

    Thanks for the help,
    Joshua
  • Does it have a LSD? If not, that will make a huge improvement.

Hooray for body roll! lol I have some pics of my old Prelude doing exactly that before I quickly added a better suspension setup.

  • I used the Wagon rear diff ring gear on the OBX LSD that I modified to fit the Wagon diff housing.

Jaker, I am sure you stated it already somewhere but a little detail on your rear propshaft. where you get it etc.
  • bam-bambam-bam Council Member
    Hey, Austin.

Haven't seen Jaker on here in awhile, but IIRC the shaft was custom carbon fiber. It's in the thread here somewhere...
  • FakeJDMEF8FakeJDMEF8 Senior Wagonist
^^^^ yep. More info earlier on in the thread. However, I picked up jakers driveshaft and will be selling it within the next week. I have the spacers and all the hardware and both u-joints. I've put 0 miles on it, and now getting outta wagons (for now..!)

    Lemme know if you're interested...
