As of now I don't want to H2B but I may change my mind maybe over next winter. That really sucks about Bisi's car being so close to the color that I want. I hadn't ever seen that car before so now I have no idea what I'm going to do. I'm going to keep my eyes open for other colors but I'm not sure I will change. Like I said I found that color in 2008 and had planned to paint my Camaro that color and I have been in love with it ever since.

    I'm from Indiana.

Finally made some progress on the car. It's been slow going with my birthday, shopping for Christmas, and then Christmas itself. Anyway got the internals on the engine done and trial fit in the car. I had to modify the passenger frame rail and the firewall for the intake to fit. Still need to modify the driver's headlight bucket for the alternator. The timing belt area on the valvecover just barely clears the hood so I'll have to wait to see if the carbon hood clears after I get it. It's scheduled to be delivered today, so I'm pretty excited for it. The next thing on the list to do is pull the engine back out and start repairing all the areas I modified. After that I'll be starting to clean up the bay so I can start the brake line tuck.

Also got the bodywork done on the fenders and bought two rust free doors and and a hatch so I'll be starting bodywork on them sometime soon.

So awesome. H22, brave. I only plan on doing a F22. Which I'm debating to get started and make it a IA build.

Def not a daily. No heat, a/c, power steering, or wipers so it wouldn't make a good daily lol.

How was this swap? as in like how hard was this to do into this chassis. I have done two H22 swaps into an ej1, and a ek hatch. But am about to get a wagon and have thought about trying to put the one from my coupe into the wagon. Do you have to saccrifice anything from the regular A/C and P/S or is there more? It also looks very tight in there. you dont think there will be any engine movement or anything?

Honestly it hasn't been that bad so far but I also have a shop full of tools and a lift. Like I said so far I had to notch the passenger frame rail on the bottom to the pinch weld, so like a 1"x12" section removed that needs to be boxed in. The firewall had to be adjusted just a tad for the rear mount to fit and it had to be moved about 1 1/2" back for the intake. I'm going to try to move the firewall back some more for the intake when the engine is removed again. It looks like the driver's headlight bucket will need the inside corner notched so I can adjust tension on the belt. The valve cover just barely misses the hood and is really close to the driver's strut tower. Originally I was going to get a Skunk2 intake but since it has longer runners it won't fit so if money is right I'm just going to get a Euro R manifold.

As far as a/c and p/s and whether you can run it or not, I have no idea since I never intended on having it on this car. If you want to do this swap check this company out: http://www.explicitspeedperformance.net/index.html
They seem like they have a good grasp on the swap. I already owned my Hasports before I found out about this company or else I would have probably just got everything from them. Also if you want to do H2B I have no idea about clearance issues and what needs to be done. I think this car is H2B and has the huge hood gap in the back and that's something I wanted to stay away from.

I got my hood Monday and made it around to getting some pics. Since I am the 2nd person to get one I figured I would leave some feedback on it. I'll start off by saying that Cmerce is a really cool dude and gave me updates throughout the whole process. With that being said I waited for almost four months for him to get it done and shipped to me. When I got it the packaging was excellent and he had put foam along the outside of the hood and the box was secured very well. I only set the hood into place and sat the fenders on it just to get an idea on how it fit and it looks like it will be excellent. The weave in the carbon is straight and looks perfect in the complex curves around the front by the headlights. I do have some complaints on it though and took some pics of them. There is one bad place in the weave on the driver's side. It's only about an inch long and only one strand wide though. Next, and what concerns me the most is that there are small raised places over the entire hood. It looks to me like it is dirt under the resin and there appears to be no issues with the carbon itself. My plan to fix that is just to block sand the hood and clear it. So since I can fix it it isn't a huge deal to me but luckily I have the means to fix it since I work in a body shop but most everyone else doesn't have that advantage so that is why I wanted to mention it. It is frustrating though to spend that much money just to have to repair things to meet my standards. I definitely want to mention that I have not contacted Cmerce about any of my complaints since the issues aren't that big to me. I know that it's not entirely fair for me to post this without talking to him first but I'm sure if anyone else decides to get a hood and has complaints he would fix any issues because he seems like a resonable guy. Overall I'm pleased with the hood and don't regret buying it. If anyone has any questions please ask because I want everyone to be fully informed.

These first two pics only show a small sample of the raised places.

The only flaw I can find in the weave.

Can't wait for you to fire this thing up!
  • Man nice build  but one question. Is it a little bit to close between Intake and Firewall? I mean if the motor moves he slap against the firewall? :?: :?: :?:
  • MrM3MrM3 Council Member
Yeah as of now it will be too close but when I take the engine out again I'm going to get the firewall back further.
  • EDwEFprtsEDwEFprts Senior Wagonist
^ too bad about the hood, but cool that you have the 2nd one (i guess there's always small issues with the first "batch.").
    can't wait to see more.

The hood still looks great. Can't wait to see your finished outcome.

nice wagon build; I love the color too
  • Once again MrM3 your wagon is going to be amazing. This is exactly what the wagon scene needs is people that are damn good at modding a car and have the resources to do impressive things. I just want to thank you for bringing this car out of what would have been a "cash for clunkers" condition, to the caliber of a show car. It is great that the Wagon community now has multiple Wagons that are destroying the standards of most Civic tuners out there. I remember when just the simplest mods were hot shit, now we have a 700 hp wagon and soon yours. :bows:
