MrM3's Wagovan Mega Build (Long Story 11/8)

I picked up this car about a year ago after a friend that works at a Honda dealership told me about it. The people that owned it had bought a new Fit and wanted to get rid of it. I went and checked it and was pretty happy with it and it was only $450 so I couldn't really pass it up. It's been sitting for a while now while I have been collecting parts. I'm hoping to have it done to go to IA in it this year so hopefully I can make it happen. Anyway on to some pics and more info:

The day I brought it home.

Over the long weekend I made some process of the car. I hadn't really wanted to post anything until I started work on it but now I should stay on it pretty steady until it's done.

Gonna replace the crossmember with one from Full Race

I'm planning on going pretty low so I thought I would try to get some more clearance for the control arms.

wow, great build! nice parts you got there too, i cant wait to see where this goes
  • MrM3MrM3 Council Member
My plan is go very low with it(I have koni/gc already but not pictured) wire and brake line tuck, carbon hood (waiting on one from cmerce) and then just super clean body and paint work.
  • very nice! have fun struffin that H in the tiny wagon
  • Damn this is gonna be one hell of a build judging by the parts pile and progress so far.
  • adamEFwagonadamEFwagon Senior Wagonist
damn dude you got some ill parts for this beast.
i like how you extended the shock towers for more clearance.
im sooo stoked on this build, cant wait for it to be done.
what wheels are you gonna go with?
  • DarraghDarragh Band Wagon
Niiiiiiiice! This is gonna be a sweet build I sense! As above also, what wheels you gonna run? Also whats the current suspension setup?! Please say it's something simple as I don't want to have to buy coilovers

WOW MrM3! I like the progress already. Props for doing it right with new quarters and all! Nice parts too! Please keep us posted with this build. I will be following this project's progress! :D
  • Woah...
    Love your work...
I thought the car was low enough as it is when you got it, and then I saw the last few pics and thought to myself
"Oh My... he's going even lower!" <--- awesome!
  • ThaClutcHThaClutcH Senior Wagonist
I love everything about it. I want that EF9 bumper badddd. I can't wait to see the progress!
  • MrM3MrM3 Council Member
Thanks for the compliments guys. In the pics the car is just on cut springs because I didn't want to look at it riding high while it sat lol but I've already bought Koni/GC for it. I'm still not sure on wheels but something of that period maybe Gales or some SSR EX-C fins but both are so hard to find. I have some more progress that I have made but no pics so I'll get them posted before too long.

I was wondering when you would finally get here! Good stuff, Man.

Sweet build man!! Can't wait to see this one finished!
  • Wow, I have a feeling this is going to be nasty!

What color are you going to paint it?
  • MrM3MrM3 Council Member
I'm pretty sure this is the color I'm going to go with. I found it at SEMA in 2008 and haven't really came up with anything I like better.

Its going to look sick. Just a lil advice. Since you planning to slam this baby. Make sure you roll your fenders and quarters before you paint it to prevent tire rubbing. Trust me. I kno.

Yes rolling fenders s a must esp if you plan on running any kind of low offset! BTW that color is sick!
  • ThaClutcHThaClutcH Senior Wagonist
    That color looks good!
  • MrM3MrM3 Council Member
Fenders have already been rolled before the bodywork was started. I'll do the quarters when I start the bodywork on them.

bismoto is doing a similar color on his build... i would pick a different color just to be different... just my opinion...

again you have slew of awesome parts...
  • I thought bisi's wagon was a stock colour?
  • ThatDoodleThatDoodle Council Member
Nice stuff here buddy. I cant wait to see how that big block is going to fit in there. Also looking forward to seeing that bay.
  • NJCIVICWAGON1NJCIVICWAGON1 Council Member
Have you considered looking into an H2B kit from Bisi camp? Would be nice to marry B series tranny to that H22.
  • Bisi's wagon is not a stock color, but it is similar to the one MrM3 has. The amount of parts you have are very impressive and I am jealous lol. Amazing work, can't wait for updates to this one.
