here some pics of my zc block im using for my mini-me build. and my freshly powdercoated wrinkle blue (f20b blue) acura el 1.6 valve cover!!! and my other two valve covers.... being sent to powercoat someday...
more pics... here is a look at the clutch that came from that zc swap i got from my friend here locally. now im not a clutch expert but isnt that a pretty good clutch still? and flywheel is very very smooth...
tell me what yall think guys...
the rotors, calipers, pads, and such are my small brake upgrade to 10.2's from my dinky lil 9.5's... ive got the 15/16 MC to go with it for whenver i can make the time to do it all. i had the 23T brackets milled down 3/32'' so hopefully they will fit.
and here is one of my crown jewels now!!! an oem blue center console painted grey... dont know who the fock would do such a thing but im super glad they did... it was such a nice surprise when fakejdmef8 called me and told me that it was originally blue but only painted grey cause i have a blue interior!!!
there isnt a part number on that pocket anywhere but it is a perfect fitment. ill be looking for an oem ef cd player here in a lil while after i get my jswap ek done and my mini-me swap for the wagon done. i will be selling my jswap when im done to put more work into my wagon. with another one the way a two door badass isnt really something i can devote alot of time to here anytime soon and beside i would rather have a bike again! but that will be here in the next few months. thanks for reading guys
I think youre going to run into more problems than you anticipated with that harness swap. I'll list a few issues you will probably run into.
-The harness you got is from an auto car, thus meaning that the cruise control computer box is for an auto car. If you look, the sticker says PM5-AT. The AT means auto transmission. The cutoff wire from the box will also be in the wrong spot for your car due to this. It will be in the bundle of wires by your shifter since its from an auto car. On a 5 speed car this wire is taken to the clutch. This wire is used so when shifting through the gears (in a 5 speed) or going out of the drive gears (in an automatic), the cruise control shuts off to keep the engine from free revving between gears or in neutral.
-The part of the harness from the front doors back to the hatch is totally different than a sedan harness. The sedan harness is taken over the driver side wheel well then across the shelf and then splits into two sides, one for the right taillight and one for the left. On the wagon there is a left side harness and a right side harness. This will mean you"ll have to hide the wiring partly under your seats or something.
-90-91 Civic sedans have different taillights than every other EF/EE. The harness inside the taillights is different, thus the plug for the taillights is different making it incompatible with your wagon taillights. (No you cant swap sedan tails onto a wagon). Also the reverse lights are run through the trunk on a 90-91 sedan.
-The third brake light is mounted on the cargo shelf, thus the wiring wont reach the high mounted light on your wagon.
-The only way I see this possibly working (and thats if youre well enough informed on the cutoff wire to reroute it to your clutch) is if you use half the wagon harness (from the front doors back) and half the wagon harness (from the dash up to the engine bay). Even then you wont have power windows and such.
-Im only 18 but Ive done several wire tucks, battery relocation, fusebox relocation, stereos, drawn schematics for a simple use of a relay, and have also done 2 harness swaps from one sedan to another. Honestly youre better off just pulling all the cruise stuff out and routing the wires where they need to go, same with the power windows. Like I said I think youre gonna have a hell of time trying to make this work and even in the end the harness will be so messy it will outweigh the cruise your gaining. You could make due with a lot of cutting, soldering, and repinning but thats your decision.
i just sold you my tranny right? whats your number again... i never thought about it... funny enough. would this whole setup work for an automatic wagon?
yeah.. you just bought my zc tranny with the linkage, IM, and TB... but would this setup work in an automatic wagon? if so i will sell the whole harness and maybe the power options too... so hopefully i can find an 91 civic ex parts car (yeah right)... i would love to rape one of those
haha damn. I took the knuckles and entire harness from an EX at the junkyard. The harness would work for the cruise but like I said would be a giant mess for any wagon. Youre better of just separating the cruise and power window wiring and grafting them into your existing harness.
why dont you just pay me a visit and do it for me lol? yeah ill try that. but im not very good at wiring nor can i read a schematic. im trying to learn but damn thats a pain in the ass. yeah im trading a friend of mine for his calipers. he's doing some custom milling on some integra type r calipers so they will fit my 9.5in rotor knuckles with the 10.3 rotors.
these will be up for sale whenever i upgrade again to 11.1in rotors with my civic ex knuckles whenver i find a set of those.
so im loving that seat... super awesome stuff... makes driving the wagon a better dream than before... and here are some more goodies i picked up today...
I love this thread. It looks like you have your work cut out for you as far as goodies go.

Any updates on the power windows & cruise control?
(noob question) Where do the coin tray & cupholders go? Where do they come from? I need cupholders, I am _SO_ tired of sticking my drink between my seat and e-brake!
Anyway, keep up the good work! Oh, and I really like the EL valve cover. I have one sitting around, this gives me inspiration!
i couldnt be happier you appreciate my thread sir... but i had to scrap the dohc zc idea... but instead im boosting a sohc zc/y8 mini-me im building now... im having my y8 head rebuilt (nothing fancy as my goal is only 200-250 whp) with new seals, lapping the valves, re-decked. ill try to put up some pics of the turbo manifold and turbo today (turbo is getting a rebuild - air research brand - hot section getting ceramic coated and the cold section getting powder coated to match my valve cover and the manifold getting ceramic coated to match whatever color the hot section will be)
no updates as of yet but i just retrofitted my wagon to have working AIR CONDITIONING... and that is the absolute best modification in the whole world so now i can take the family out with me and not be sweaty when we get there... when i took my son to one of his doctor's appointments he was sweaty when we got there and that was the last straw so i had a friend help me retrofit my a/c and i should have done this when i bought it but oh well i have it now and thats what matters.
but my wife is 34 weeks now and we have our beautiful 18 month son so working on power options and extras like that isnt really happening as of now. but as i work i put updates just to make me feel better... hopefully my ek j swap will be up by next weekend and i can start working on the wagon.. thanks again guys... more pics coming soon!
well i tried to post up pics but as of right now it says im not allowed for whatever reason... ive contact the mods so im just waiting for them to fix this...
im trying new things to post up pics since we arent allowing attachments at this time. I have never had a good time with snapfish so im trying face book. hope this works
progress technology coilovers, 10.3 inch rotors and custom cnc machined integra type r calipers, oem stanley side markers, oem foglight harness and switch, edm oem stanley clear corners, prelude si steering wheel, and other upgrades... thanks for looking
please let me know if these links work. i have found that for whatever reason Snapfish was my only success of loading links to my images. how everyone else can see them too...
this is the only way i know of attaching images to my thread here since the "overhaul"
yeah.. im actually working with a friend of mine to restore my USDM blue optional console... and a radio combo... that i haven't seen complete in any car other than the one it was an option for... now that has been months in the making and still not done
