    In the garage.

Plus also now with the black carpet back there makes the whole back area lot darker.

My neighbor had some spare so I threw some back there so we don't mess up the carpet back there.

Now that I have a wagon, my bro in law sent me this pic back in June after spotting this wagon near KSU. A white wagon with red wheels in the Woodstock area....after reading your build thread....must have been you :)

Cant believe there are so many wagon owners in this area!
  • Yeah there are a good bit here in GA. I'll be adding another to the Atlanta area in August, I'll try to set up another meet and maybe I can get my brother and his wagon to come up again
  • Great build man, your exhaust looks good on there.

Ok here is the messed up thing.

The person that took that picture, that is my landrover right in front of me.

So as of Christmas I decided enough was enough.

I was fortunate enough to go help a friend in need relieve some stress from his family life.

Well when talking about wagon with my buddy CBE, his response was well the hatch has a zc sitting not doing nothing. It has 5k on it after the full rebuild take that out of it.

So a really good deal was struck and over Christmas a swap of life was done.

So I went from an old and tired d15y7 to a 1.6 obd2 zc ( this is the engine that was in the awd integra making 120hp)

It's not much compared to my twin cam but sure does put a smile on my face when I pull away from the light and the poor bastard behind me is not covered in oil smoke.

I had two issues during the swap.

    1. clutch always felt like it wanted to slip. Well I re-routed that to a better place and it went away. Me and Cbe seem to think I had the clutch cable in a bind.
    2. check engine light was on for code 9. Well Bam looked and happened to push in the dizzy cable a little bit more.

I had the swap done in just at 8 hrs by myself.

Now the only issue it one thing. I have to wash the bloody thing.

Apart from that I have not done much to her.

Next on the list of honey do is the AC recharge since my compressor shit the bed right at the end of summer. That was a fun drive home no a/c and no radiator.

I bought a new compressor and it is installed just have to make a little time.

Well that is some good news! Nice find and nice addition!

And no pictures? Not even an 'after' shot? Highly suspect if you ask me.
  • rbwdrivenrbwdriven Senior Wagonist
yeah I did not do much documentation.

More in the mentality of "f" this and get it done.

I pulled the car our and the neighbor was holy crap gave up on the swap. Na it is done.

Just technically looks the same except a light green valve cover.

Did it get the optional starter with fully detailed insides?

    lmfao....

Nope that went with the detailed to hell and back tranny.

It is amazing how much stuff he has given me just out of the sheer factor of I'm done with it and don't wanna mess with it.

So while running with no ac and pissing down rain. I've been trying to decide how to not get wet.

I know I need to schedule some time with the ac tech.

My wife's schedule sometimes dictates mine.

So I decided to try and mock up the vent visors.

I grabbed a set from a 97 nissan pathfinder and went to town.

I used a hobby saw, dremel and heat gun. If I have to do it again I'd just use the heat gun and hobby saw.

The only issue I do not like with these are they are rounded on the ends on the doors.

    575.jpg

    576.jpg

Here is how it is finished.

I used the heat gun right at the corner to get it to form around the mirror.

    577.jpg

    578.jpg

While I was at it. I decided to put new rear brakes on.

Well I knew I was close on tire tread but did not realize how close. can we say drag slicks have more tread. Cords showing etc.

Thank god for many sets of wheels at the house. My hatch said oh it is ok use my wheels with the extra sticky tires.

I threw the guy off at Kaufman tire when i told him him civic wagon, oh here is the tire size I need and also don't worry I'll just bring the wheels up I have extra sets of wheels.

i like me some window visors .......

i know this real good ac tech in your neck of the woods ....

wish i lived closer ... he helped me put an ac belt on Scrappy back @ Wago~Palooza 2010 .... but that wasnt my issue there is no clutch in the pulley thing on Scrappy (but well ac is back burner MORE LIFT got moved to front HIGH heat)

Window vents look great. Want to see them in person. Which Kaufman you use? Prob not townelake one cuzwas my bro in law works at that one, and would have mentioned the wagon. #wagonwatch24/7/365
  • rbwdrivenrbwdriven Senior Wagonist
    Hwy 92 Kaufmann.

They only issue with my wagon is they cant seem to do alignments there due to my wagon is too low for them.

I found that funny since went to where my buddy works and put it on the same rack using a 2x4 on each side.

Yep I know the same ac tech as well.
  • TerminusVoxTerminusVox Senior Wagonist
I think that's the first set of vent visors I've seen that have been DIY'd that look good. Actually looks like they were factory made for a wagon. Great job!
  • PrennroPrennro Council Member
I bet lee can get it aligned. You shuld call the twn lake store and ask to speak with him. Tell him he comes reccomended by his bro in law. Im taking mine there for him to do when im done with all my upgrades and back rollin.

Might have to see how they are wearing. Then go talk with him.

The visors I figured was all about taking time. plus being engineer and aries to make it right.
  • PrennroPrennro Council Member
Definitely do that. I mentioned it to him yesterday and he doesn't think it will be a problem as your wagon is not near as low as his VW Jetta and he's gotten his on the rack.
  • rbwdrivenrbwdriven Senior Wagonist
welp got new tires for the wagon. rides lots better.

Since my bday is coming up I decided to stop on the way home and get an emission. The place I stopped at I never have used before.

Long story short, the guy is having issues. Computer rebooting, loosing the signal for revs etc. During one test he thinks I'm passing so he restarts the test due to he has a rev signal etc.

At this point he stalls it twice (pulling off in second) and there is no cooling fan pushing in air to the car.

    744.jpg

Now looking at the test I got almost the same numbers as last year. Except there is a major difference.

    I'm running a new motor.

OBD2 ZC motor on a obdo ecu and wiring.

Also new plugs, new o2 sensor and cap and rotor button.

    Now I'm bloody confused.

I'm too the point of finding a special person.

    You think that is it?

And do you have one sitting?
  • rbwdrivenrbwdriven Senior Wagonist
Welp got me a new bolt in cat.

Was going to borrow one from Hoss. Decided just to get a new one.

Went over to Hoss's house friday and checked valve clearance and set timing. Then changed timing to 10 degrees.

Got told beat it all the way to the emission place.

Welp sat at the place for about 20 minutes idling.

The emission guy said lets give it a go.

Failed their tester program. He said hold on, you have been sitting here idling let me try something. Proceeded to put foot on loud pedal and bounce it off the rev limiter.

The lady behind in her toyota was not impressed at this due to her shiny car was now covered in carbon build up from my exhaust.

    Ok lets go again.

Passed with Flying colors. I ended up with numbers in the 7 and 8 range on co2 and hyrocarbons.

    On to other things now.

Glad toto hear. One more year of emission bs and youll be exempt :encouragement:

    thanks

Yeah technically it is a 91. I messed the title up. Had too may EF's in the stable at that time.

I've got atleast the 88 that does not require emission and also the 89 when I finish that.
