that sway bar should be fun. I'm def down to help pull the engine and whatever wiring you need help with, we should chip the ecu shortly after, someone get this man a PM6!
update on the tuck and shave i got the motor out and front end completly torn apart except fenders.
i took off the trany for the first time since ive owned the swap and a goodish thing is i have a 6 puck competion clutch and flywheel and that was cool or what ever and a bad thing was the flywheel has about 300 little stress cracks and the clutch has almost nothing left on one side of it .
but the stoopid thing is that ive never felt the slightest slip or bad chatter or anthing of that sort only just recently ive ben feeling a vibration under acceleration so i went out and bought axles but i dont think that was the problem after all
and within the next couple days im gona order my master seal kit water pump and all that jazz and now i guess i need to oreder a new clutch and i think im gona pick up a complete new harness from the junk yard and redo my dpi to mpi and my hole tuck
kyle h. came by today and helped me with the final wire tuck we got a good idea of how we want everything ran and what supplys are still needed and all that stuff and we got the drivers side injetor harness pulled threw the fire wall and the head lights/turns/marker/horns wires tucked and ready to use i got a few pics of the wires loomed and zip tied away
torn down
loom and tied
used stock ground
all the wires your gona b able to see when done and i still need to build up the metal in spots nd grind smooth
the tuck is coming along... i am also about to start my tuck.. i got a buddy joey that does it for a living.. so i will have mine done in three days...
ok not too big of an update just a lot of pics . ive gotten like 70% of the wireing done.
ive welded up the ac line hole and the main harness hole and cut out a new hole for the harness beside the stering rack,
started making the shock towers equal and smoothed out and raised ,
smoothed out the top cross bar were the hood latch is mounted
i just have a lot a lot a lot of grinding and smoothing and painting to do and order my seal kits and clutch but im broke so its gona have to wait
but on the the pics OOOO i got new wheels last night too
holes before
holes after shitty welds but theres a reson i couldnt lay a bead cuz i actually had a fire under the dash going for a good 5 min and i didnt relize so im just gona work with what i got done
holes welded all around
welded up towers started building edges to make them equal
got shit all torn apart
pulled wires threw and took harness apart and re routed everything
AND MY NEW RIMS WHOOOOOO !
they are trm motor sports c1 15s there like 13 pounds a piece im tryin to get my full setup done so ill b ready for autocross this summer
oo i thought i took it out of my trunk but i guess not .
and for the update ive gotten almost all the smoothing done under the hood and it should be painted this weekend .
I went to the junk yard sunday and bought eg front forks to get that extra little bit of drop.
I also got a fresh brake resivor.
last night ups showed up with my water pump/timming belt/enigne seal kit
I also herculind the inner fender wells .
the tuck is about 80% done i just need to finish up the motor work so i can complete the rest of the tuck on the motor .
this weekend i am going to the junk yard to pull da intergra front knuckles and rear arms and doin dick rear and big brake front .
after i get the knuckles im getting the calipers , rotors and pads off line and trying to hunt down a cheap set of braided brake lines
tommrow night after i get off work im gona use the big welder there to make a skid plate for my oil pan and im also stripping the valve cover and painting it and hacking up my headers a little bit to pretty them up
heres so snapps of how smooth im getting the engine bay
heres some comparison shots of the eg forks i bought compared to stock ef forks
ef on left and eg on right
heres some shots of the herculiner on the inner fenders
oo and i also found a original owners manual i thought it was cool since my car didnt come with one so i snagged it from the yard
ive gotten 90% of the shave done and i started to paint but then i ran out of primer so ill have to wait till i get to the store for more
but heres a few pics of what ive painted
primerd
for the actual paint i went with the same cream color the some wagons come with the pics are kinda f 'd up the color doesnt look anything like it does in person after its all painted ill post more pics and try to light the room dif or someting so u can actually tell
did you notice a difference in ride quality after cutting/modifying the top of the towers for uca clearance?
umm yes because the uca didnt slam on the tower every 2 min but quality it was smoother becuz before i cut them it rode on the uca the hole time and didnt let the suspension travel like it needed to
yea im tryin to gotta go to the big richmond honda meet/show thing in a month and after that ill do a full interior and paint and body work and eventually id like to end up in some kinda of magazine i have a buddy i met a wile back that was in super street and i hung out with him and looked over his car and it gave me a lot of inspiration to get mine as good as possible with the budget im workin with
this looks a lot like my crx buildup, except i am doing a brake line tuck also. I've taken more than 2 years to get to paint on mine, but that's just cause i'm lazy
In for moar pics.. and for inspiration, here's a pic of how my rex sat when i gave it it's first coat of primer /sealer in the bay:

they were 195 50 15s and i ran a cheapy tire with a really soft side wall and i put about 4,200 miles on them with no camber wear at all
im not 100% happy with it yet gotta go back and touch up a few spots with some sanding but it looks ok so far
