I kinda had a similar issue when i got shays wagon the front drivers side kept popping out so i replaced it with a new one and it still would pop out. So i used a lil bit thinker snap ring that wasnt just round it had the tips bent inward to help spread the snap ring into the groove. its help up ever since with no issues what so ever.

Well I spent some time on the rear axle issue. Now I know for sure I have the wrong inner joint on the passenger side axle. I had originally thought that since I had a FWD OBX LSD in the rear diff, that I needed the inner joints from a FWD set of axles. This was after discussing things with Frank from DSS. In fact, the diff is placed the same in the rear RT4WD diff housing as the OEM open rear diff, so I need the inner joints to be the same as the RT4WD rear axle inner joints: they both need to be of the long variety - or both inner joints for rear diff need to be the same length as the driver's side inner joint for a FWD axle.

Glad i havent figured out what im doing with my axles yet...

P.s. ive started collecting parts to fab an electric actuator on the Rwd disengagement lever (i cant seem to track down an older civic wagon 4wd)

and my trans is pretty much done being rebuilt (took two trans, robbed all the good parts to make one great trans, and ordered new parts when needed)

engine should be going out to the machine shop any day now...

    ???
  • How does the front end feel Jaker? I know you didn't get on it in the vid, but does it feel "lighter" without the torque of the motor on it?

Not driving it yet. Kind of busy right now with another home renovation project. This has been keeping me busy for the last 8-9 days, and there's probably at least another 5-6 days work left to do. Considering we bought the tiles 2 years ago, I guess it was time. Plus my mother in law visits for the 1st time in about 5 years in a week. Oh, and the chairs here there and everywhere are to restrict dog access to keep them the hell off the fresh tiling.

There won't be much activity here for a while. The motor went boom on the dyno at Speed Factory at the begining of Feb. Now I need to put another short block together (bigger and better) and I'll be making some other changes at the same time. I learned plenty before the failure. 26 psi at 9,000 with the power diving big time leads me to believe that I need to work on head flow.
