Two of these going on at the same time? Far out.
  • full AC setup! complete. 2?!?! whose the 2nd?!
  • talk about some crazy changes!! cant wait to see it come along. theres a guy with a current thread thats doing the same thing man, blue wagon super clean
  • yea i know i just saw it! 90shuttles iirc. im jelly like my belly! haha. i get to work on the car when i get off of work at 5 and i sleep at 9-10 so i dont really get much time to put in work. hence why my pictures are in the dark. i did manage to strip the bay down to bare so all it needs now is the subframe and knuckles removed, then i can drill. very limited on tools and extra hands. but i will be trying my best and FOR SURE hella pictures! haha.

  • kinda crazy that you remember the garage..haha.

I get to work on mine once a week, you're lucky! But I have the use to shop tools ;)

Yeah I'll be using all the ac stuff as well... I know that's going to be a pita....
  • now you need to find a right side mirror lol did you ever fix the starting issue with your ef/ee sedan?
  • i dont think i need that mirror cause i am able to look over my shoulders haha.

90shuttle: the weather is going down to like 29 and we are in cali! wtfeezy!. its so cold just to go into the garage. imagine the garage open..if im lucky, i can squeeze in 1-2 hours before i sleep but..i dont know, its just too damn cold..

Yeah I know man! I'm at work all night and in a warehouse, it's FREEZING. So no excuses! Lol. Did you get any other beagle parts?
  • what i was mad about was, the dash was attached to the rhd in the pictures. it showed the intake arm/box, ef5 badge, radiator, cluster and engine harness. i did not receive the engine harness. i did not get the badge, i did not get the intake, i did not get the radiator. but what got me was i got the center console apart from the clip and the bracket where it attaches the bar under the dash (the one 10mm bolt in the center under the radio) did not come with the car. the cluster didnt bother me because its automatic and it took off 50bucks. but i didnt understand the rest. i emailed them and said the picture is an example although it is the actual item. only thing they would send me as free, is the badge.

    so no other beagle parts.

i tried to work on the clip today. but it turned dark and cold. i did what i could before it became too loud for the night. i will try to take as many pictures and hopefully some detail ones on how to remove the firewall and the spot welds removal.

heres a day time picture of the clip, finally.

went to Harbor Freight to get me some bits and i bought 4 of these at like 4 bucks. its cool cause they are flip flop just in case it gets dull.

    504.jpg

    some practice runs.

    505.jpg
    506.jpg

    subframe out.

    507.jpg
    508.jpg

so i removed this piece to access the spot welds on the inside that connects to the firewall. which in havent got to yet.

    509.jpg

here is the (rhd) passenger side near the hinge drilled out

    510.jpg
    511.jpg

this is the firewall connecting to the pillar where the windshield would go.

    512.jpg

    near the door

    513.jpg

i gave up here for the night. its the passenger side firewall.

    514.jpg

no hot ice but a chisel and a mallet does the job. i removed where the spot welds hide under the deadening and sealer.

    515.jpg

aside from this, i actually havent drove the wagon in over a month. it doesnt hold charge for some reason so i was thinking the alternator is bad. i had a volt meter on the battery and it had like 13.40-13.50v. turned the car off after 15 mins and it just died like it never charged. i got a new alternator but need to get it tomorrow. after removing the old one, i notice this crap..the power from the fuse box to the alternator..fried.

    516.jpg

ill get that fixed soon. also was glad the rhd clip came with the hinges! omg, cant find this in the yard anywhere! and i finally got one installed! been 2 years having to hold my hood up with a pool stick, hahaha

    517.jpg

    THATS ALL FOLKS!

Hahahhaha. How's the arm feeling after drilling lol.
  • did you get the rhd wiper cowel?
  • having a hard time keeping the drill straight haha! you can see in some of the pictures, i had some runs with the bit haha.

i did get the cowl for the rhd.

Pre drill all the spot welds with a smallllll bit. It makes life much easier.
  • crazy. i was drilling tonight and thats exactly what i did after like 3 spot welds drilled out. haha! i wish there was a detail write up somewhere..but i guess ill be the 1st to do so. im so limited on tools..
  • 90shuttle90shuttle Senior Wagonist
Yeah I was sorta in the dark too. It's my first ever build, so I'm making it count. But I sorta figured everything out lol.
  • took a few minute break to come here and say..im completely lost haha. a few bloody cuts and a back ache, this is one seriously job.

Here's a diy on a crx: http://ef-honda.com/main/viewtopic.php?t=39570 It looks you need a lot of tools XD
  • thats a whole completely different way of doing it.
  • here are some more randomness.

didnt know which part to drill so i drilled out both.

    736.jpg

also used a dremel to cut out this tab on the pillar to the firewall.

    737.jpg

under the deadening at the footboard there are a few spot welds there too.

    738.jpg

here i did some predrilling for the spot weld bit to be centered when im drilling away.

    739.jpg

then some drilling here on those guides

    740.jpg

took me some days to do the passenger side and the driver side was a breeze. went by fast!

Coming along! The side panels on the inside are a p.i.t.a!
  • i wasnt hoping to tare the side frame like this, but i was curious on what other welds were in place. gives me an idea for the other side and my car. but this was yesterdays progress and tonight i didnt even touch it. too tired from my 10hour day shift.

i was actually going to save these and ship them to someone outside of CA that are in need of replacing rusted one. theres no rust on here but its unfortunate that i now have to move out of this house that ive been living for 23 years. project will be slow and all metals that i cut are going to the dumper tomorrow morning.

This is awesome! Thanks for sharing the details!
  • yes sir! i didnt find a really good write up with detailed pictures. so my goal is, take photos of the areas that needs to drilled/removed to get the firewall out. post it here for future reference.
  • If you gotta move out what about your cars?
  • the wagon goes with me. the parts are going to be inside the car. if i cant work on it at the new home, its going to a shop to get done. my turbo sedan, i posted it up for sale as testing water. cause if there are no room at the new home, im forced to sell it. but i might be taking the motor out for the wagon. other choice is to rent a storage and store the car in there.
  • Your build threads are amazing man I've always been a fan of yours. You inspired a lot of what I've done from the bodywork to the rustoleum paint videos even the wing I made. I just wanted to say thx and I'm glad to see you back on the site. Grab your pen and paper boys and take some notes from my sensei
  • Keep that turbo ls! that would make a sick swap into the wagon. Especially with the RHD? blowing cats out of the water! That's cool though man. This build gives me ideas and sparks up new things to do with my wagon. Hopefully everything works out man.
