can't wait to see it run, etc.

It runs quite well honestly. I'm just waiting for full tune up before I take her to the sniffer. Gonna change tranny/diff fluid as well. Then tires... alignment... insurance... and should be daily driven at that point.

    Hopefully be next week

    *fingers crossed*

What exactly did you do with the shifter bushings? My shifter feels sloppy, kinda hard to get into gear.

The pictures are pretty straight forward. It's just electrical tape. Just a band aid. And it's only 1 of 4 (I think) bushings. This car isn't nearly as bad as my last. I do need to adjust the linkage and clutch.

It's a combination of things when you're actually putting it into gear. Check em all...
  • CHARB!! You sly SOB!! Jane is lookin hot!!! I gotta get over to Spo-Compton and drink a beer with you dudes

For sure man! Went to the sniffer and got her all licensed up yesterday. Gonna have to wait until I get paid this week before I can get tires and have her insured. Got a brake issue I need to sort out as well. All in all, hell of a deal- and worth the wait!
  • CharbCharb Administrator
Spent the better part of the day today scrubbing under the hood. Specifically the long block. Gonna try and watch where all the oil leaks are coming from. I am getting some blue smoke (just initial pull in first). But honestly I haven't put enough miles on her to really go through any fluids. I'm hoping for just oil pan/head/valve cover gaskets. If it's gonna be much more I'm just gonna hold out for a Z6 long-block.

Also adjusted the cable for the clutch and I'm getting MUCH better shifting. Cable was actually crazy tight. So I just backed it off.

I've also got a brake leak. My brake booster and master cylinder are nasty. And you can hear the air pulling in at times. Replacing the master cylinder and booster are at the top of my list. Along with tires :\

...but I can't complain in all honesty. I love this car!

Pics of said dirtyness... (I'll grab after pics tomorrow, it was dark out when I finished)

Still not as clean as she will be come summer. But I'm satisfied with her progress. Just working on getting all the little stuff taken care of so I can start putting miles on her. Just broke 100 today.

I forgot to show some after interior and engine pics. A little dusty at the moment. But weather has been shit. So here for now...

This shit was $12 a bottle! Worth every penny!

This stuff was like $5-$6, can't remember. Worked well though. Did it twice. Scrubbed before I rinsed. Got plenty left over to do it again a couple times. My arms are big so I couldn't reach some areas. Mainly under the exhaust manifold. When the weather gets nicer I might pull it so I can do the whole long block and oil pan. But at least you can see what motor is in the car now lol

I painted the mani heat shield... then scraped it up putting it back in... d'oh!

Comin along nicely. Can't wait for some VEETACH!! lol

Local JDM distributor has Z6 longblocks for $795.... oh boy oh boy oh boy....

Cool thing is, they are actually in Idaho. But they deliver across the border for free. When they come across the border on delivery, no sales tax :D

Just spent 20 minutes at 711 (right after I woke up might I add, not my best hour) trying to start the car. Pretty sure it's the main relay because I wasn't hearing it click when I'd turn the ignition.

So I get to do that today or tomorrow :\

Getting a leak from what looks to be front main seal as well. I guess my idea of replacing some gaskets is just a giant waste now.

Whack the dash above the relay for a temporary fix.. :P

Yeah, it happens. Maybe a fresh motor will let you enjoy the wagon more!

I had the same problem about a year ago . Only happened when it was warm out . Weird :? . Any way turned out it was the Main Relay . Was gonna cost me like $56 new plus shipping . Did a goggle search and found out you can resolder the realy . It's just that the solder cracks from old age I guess . Did that and haven't had a problem since .
  • My rule of thumb is I repair the main relay before it goes bad in every EF I've owned...because it eventually will, and normally not at the best times/locations.

Jane sure cleaned up well man.

Did a bit last night and this morning. My mom was watching my twin nieces, and one of them decided to watch me paint. So I put her ass to work lol It's funny there's two of them, it's like the Shining LOL

Just a little makeup for Jane. Painted the windshield wipers (couldn't get the rear one apart from the blade), painted the emblems, moved the license plate, painted the corners, removed the rear 'Honda' and 'Civic' emblems along with residue from previous stickers, changed the main relay, and changed my battery cables.

I think that's it. Was doing all of them at the same time and kinda got side tracked as well.

    Here's some pics-

Literally did 12+ coats. Still have half a can left. Krylon 'stained glass' paint. Looked 5 different places before finding it at Michael's craft store

    643.jpg

I wanted to do the muffler too. But when it was replaced, it was welded on to the long pipe. Didn't really want to drop the whole thing.
    644.jpg

Looks better, but some of the paint was damaged from dirt around the emblems. Still better IMO
    645.jpg

These cables were falling apart before me. Figured I'd change them since I just did the battery and main relay.
    646.jpg

I should have grabbed a pic of the main relay change, but as I said before I was juggling multiple things at once and I forgot.

Still only working part time, things will start to roll once I get another job...

Did you use a plate relocator or fab/ghetto-rig something to move your license plate.
