Been fighting the sickness added to bad weather has me moving slow. Pulled off the wheels yesterday to paint them. Only to discover my tires were much much worse than I originally thought. Very minimal rust underneath from what I have inspected so far. Not sure what I'm gonna do for rollers. I'd like to find some alloys soon. But there isn't jack on the market at the moment. And I don't really feel like replacing 13" tires.
Today I picked up a free seat from hondawagonsts (big thanks!). The people I bought the car from replaced the drivers seat with a newer one. So only 2/4 bolts are aligned and bolted in.
When I got home I thought I'd tackle the tint. But the tint tackled me lol I forgot how big of a pain in the ass it is. ESPECIALLY when it's cold outside. I gave up on that after the drivers window and moved to a Simple Green bath for the interior panels. Didn't get to finish thanks to some rain and flu-fatigue.
Hopefully the weather plays ball and I can get some stuff done this week.
How she's sittin currently... (minus stickers)
If anyone in Washington has some clean factory wheels, lmk. I'll be heading to Seattle sometime soon, and may pickup.
Thought I'd post some before pics. Painted the rims today. Then cleaned her thoroughly inside, and removed the tint with help from a friend (what a bitch, even with 2 of us). Ran out of daylight to grab after pics. But I'll try to post some more tomorrow if I get time.
Hippies lol (they actually manage a head shop)
Seat from 90/91 that came in the car
Rails over-hang
Thanks again to hondawagonsts for the free seat!
They must have had anger problems. I know from experience what center pieces look like when punched lol And there was nothing salvageable from the center. And the metal mounting case wasn't even under the plastic.
Won't have these for long, but I paid for the paint with change I found in the car ($6.17 found, $4.99+ tax for paint)
My brother hooked up some primer
15oz for $4.99 of ACE brand. Or 11oz of VHT wheel paint for $7.99. Decided to go with what I could pay for with change.
Had another pretty nice day outside today. And feeling 100% I finally got some real shit done on Jane and took her for her first drive.
Put the freshly painted steelies on
Finished the tint (cleaned off the glue)
Cleaned inside more (needs even more still)
Jimmyed the linkage bushing
Scrubbed what I could reach under the hood
Scrubbed the door jams
Gave her a thorough wash on the exterior, couldn't get quite all of the sap off of her but got all the leaves/dirt
Running out of free things to do. Got a nice list of things I want before she becomes my daily. In time...
Linkage/bushing I jimmyed
Found a dirty pipe screen lol (to add to the clean ones I found the first day haha)
What's left of the bushing
The fix:
After her first bath, as the proud father
(I put on for my city lol)
Still wet from the bath
Not bad for $484.27 including new battery and paint for wheels (not including beer or cleaning materials). Well worth the wait!
Dude who threw up in your car Glad to see you back in a wagon. I have some cheap 15inch wheels I am getting rid of. I will get you some pics tonight and send them to you.
I am so gonna steal that masking idea the next time I paint wheels with tires still on them. Never again will I sit there with masking tape tearing off 6 million little pieces to go around the tire under the edge of the rim!
Jane's looking better and better every day. Good job guys.
Looks to be coming along well. What is with previous owners and not a care in the world to keep these things even remotely clean? I can hear it now...
"Can I bring this sloppy joe, and over-filled milk shake in your car??"
"CAN YOU?? ............ I PREFER IT!!.......Oh, and feel free to use the dashboard as a plate, carpet and seats to wipe your hands, just throw the trash in the back."
There is something consistent about previous wagon owners...

I'd consider the HX's for sure. But I wouldn't want to pay a shit ton. Cuz I'll have to have the green blasted off.
Ask him.... his car should have been mine anyway lol
haha man I love the office

What's the office?
also interesting rack on this one... looks to be oem, but its chrome; i've never
seen a chrome one...
Jane's looking better and better every day. Good job guys.
Now give us back our Kokanee!
Understatement of a lifetime lol
I have, there is one on the 3rd gen wagon at my local junkyard. The rack looks identical so my guess is that it came off of a 3rd gen.

Keep up the hard work, dudes.
can't wait to see it run, etc.
i went for a ride in jane just the other day... it runs...
