I think he meant cable actuated clutch as opposed to hydraulic. What did you pay for the wagon?

Oh, wow. I was looking at that same car.

If you have the extra money, I say fix it! At least the body looks to be in pretty good shape.

if the clutch and a little cleaning is all it needs i think you should keep it :) it shouldnt be that hard to get it to where you want it

clutch pedal bracket is wagon specific. you can install the pedal bracket fom other EF's but the clutch portion will interfere with the plastic a/c vent tube to far left dash vent. I recommend you reinforce the new pedal bracket around the clutch pedal pivot area as this is a known weak point and is likely to break again. it is not terribly difficult to replace the pedal bracket but it is time consuming. wish I could help but I'm in the process of doing my own also. let me know if you have any questions.
  • Is-vicIs-vic New Wagonist
everybody keeps telling me to renforce it but im not sure how and where? should i have a ring welded around the pivot for extra strength the one i have right now is was welded where it cracked but it just cracket right next to it again
  • Weld a reinforcement tab between the clutch pivot "shaft" and the main pedal bracket that surrounds the brake pedal. This will help distribute the load when applying the clutch and help prevent further cracking. I used a piece of 1/8 thick steel plate from home depot.

Update so i got my rear gas shocks for the tailgate/hatch area and they were like oem but better, everything lined up and they work perfect! my clutch pedal on the other hand is going to take a while to get here, i ordered december 6th i got an update from majestic honda saying that it will be shipped out the 15th and will arrive the 21st argghh

so after waiting almost a month my new clutch pedal bracket came in today! gunna do some midnight installing!

ughhh this car just keeps giving me more problems!!!!! car has a vacuum leak now and i really didnt want to invest much money into getting this fixed so im gunna put it up for sale for 1300 just to cover the parts i bought for it let me know if any of you guys are intrested ill make a for sale thread soon with proper pictures and all info
  • Don't give up so easily. These cars are about 20 years old and they are going to have some problems. A vacuum leak can be something as simple as a broken rubber hose. You can try to isolate the cause by letting the engine idle and listen for the high pitched whistling noise then spray that area with brake parts cleaner. If the engine stumbles when you spray a particular area, then that is where the vacuum leak is coming from. Part of the experience of owning a car like this is learning how to troubleshoot and resolve these little issues. I literally knew nothing about cars when I bought my first EF several years ago. After several minor and a few major problems I learned quite a few things about cars. The factory Helms manual, your local junkyard and a set of basic tools are your best friends.

OG i agree with you 100 percent and i know it could be a 10 dollar fix, it could be the hoses or intake manifold gasket but im a very busy person and i bought this car for the main purpose of being my daily driver but its been sitting for a month just because its one thing after the next. where i live and work everybody drives respectable cars and i wouldnt mind so much if the car ran fine but first it was the bracket and now its this damn vacuum leak so thats the main reason i wanna get let it go.
  • Is-vicIs-vic New Wagonist
Okay I replaced the intake manifold gasket and checked all the vacuum hoses which
was a pain in the ass, i also replaced all the grounds which made the car run better but the idle/vacuum problem still exsist. this car sometimes idles on its own and then other times it revs hang when i shift! what the hell causes these symptoms??
  • Is-vicIs-vic New Wagonist
lol i thought this was a helping forum!!! i need help
  • If you are positive there are no vacuum leaks then check the electronic air control valve(EACV). Pull the carpet back at the passengers side foot rest and with the key on position number 2 check to see if you have and diagnostic trouble codes at the engine control unit. A code 14 would indicate a fault with the EACV circuit. A code 14 would be indicated by the red L.E.D. flashing one long time followed by four quick consecutive flashes. If no codes are present then remove the EACV and clean the inside ports with throttle body cleaning spray(located on top of the intake manifold). Don't forget to replace the o-ring seal and see if that helps. If it still does the same thing, check to see the cooling system is properly bled. I had a similar issue and it just ended up being an air pocket in the cooling system causing an erratic idle. This is especially true if any work has been done recently to the cooling system. If all this doesn't help, try reseting the idle. To do this
you have to let the engine get to operating temp first (make sure the fan comes on). Unplug the two 2 pin connector at the EACV and make sure no electrical loads are on. Adjust the idle screw and set the idle to approx. 650 RPM.
Turn off the ignition and plug in the EACV. Reset the the engine control unit by pulling the hazard fuse at the main fuse box located under the hood at the right shock tower for about 20 secs. Start the engine again and let it idle again
with no electrical loads on. The idle should be approx. 750 RPM. Let the car idle for a few minutes then turn on the headlight high beams and rear defogger. The idle should bump up to approx.850 RPM. Try these and see if any of it helps.

    civic wagon no respect

LOL how many times have we heard this?
  • Wow. That is some mess!! Hopefully, you can clean it well and perhaps salvage the carpet in it. I say, don't give up so easily.. The body is still in good shape. Like someone said before- it's gonna take some TLC.. Is the idling off only when it sits or is it when you are driving?

At least you have some fun Hawaiian print seat covers.. That's the way I roll.. :)
  • Is-vicIs-vic New Wagonist
the way things are going i dont think the wagon will sell, its just sitting in my backyard for right now. the si on the other hand my si is gettting an all around audio upgrade with a 7inch screen =)

oh and the idle thing happens when im at standstill and when i shift it seems that the car rev hangs. it got better when i clean the iacv but its still pretty bad
  • more becoming a project ey...
