Good observation! im not planning to push more than 8lbs of pressure which equivalates to aprrox. to 185 wheel hp which is enough for me, vitara pistons and forged rods will come later but as i said this is an ongoing build so u might see them soon

Yeah, it was given to me by a friend whom was swapping a LS/vtec into his delsol, its been to the machine shop since then and has been bored and honed to 75.5mm

I did that exact same thing for all my gauges on my old hatch, but I did it back in '00 so I had to use all autometer gauges cause that's what was available not like all the nice ones they have now.
  • In for more updates. Sounds like a cool build. I'm currently working on a zc/z6 swap in my rt.

Another midday update! so far, im about ready to pull out the axels, but before that i have to drain the tranny of oil, that has become a problem...
    454.jpg
that bolt is square on the inside, i dont have that tool, AARRRGGGHHH!!!!
i tried vice grips but no luck :(
    455.jpg
i also fount out that the previous owner didnt do a good job keeping track of bolts, so i assume
he replaced the ones on the drive shaft, too shiny to bee original
    456.jpg
    457.jpg
other than that ive got the axels free, but not out, i kinda dont want tranny oil in mah face
will post some more pics later today, cuz I WILL get this engine out of the wagon before the day is over!
  • DarinDarin Wagonist
you use a 3/8 ratchet in the square hole.dump oil, pull axles, do work .
  • danzdanz Wagonist
yep. the square is a regular old 3/8ths ratchet head.
  • RadioRaccoonRadioRaccoon New Wagonist
Kay, day after update! I did get the engine out yesterday, but i was too tired to post progress... and it was late  . Also thanks to Darin and Danz, the 3/8 ratchet worked and got my build going again!
    506.jpg
    alxels are out
    507.jpg
Driveshaft De-coupled (or however its called)
    508.jpg
    509.jpg
previous owner was an idiot, he jacked the car up where your not supposed to, is this reparable?
cuz i don't like having a hump next to the pedals
  • RadioRaccoonRadioRaccoon New Wagonist
    510.jpg
    Engine hoist connected
    511.jpg
    512.jpg
    Poof! engine gone!
    513.jpg
    514.jpg
and here is my mini me swapped D16a6 (RIP)
ill open it up later to see why it was steaming like a train, i think it was a blown headgasket but we'll see.
    515.jpg
    516.jpg
And some muzaks to keep me entertained
    517.jpg
and thus endid that day with the engine out like i wanted, soon shall come boost and a z6
  • DarinDarin Wagonist
hahah nice tape collection.i think i sill have some at my moms place.
  • danzdanz Wagonist
to fix the bump by your pedals you can take a rubber hammer and just tap them level from the inside of the cabin. its not the strongest metal, so dont go to town on it!
  • RadioRaccoonRadioRaccoon New Wagonist
Its been a couple of rough months form me, a family member just died so i haven't gotten any work on my wago, but heres an update on what Ive done thus far...
    427.jpg
Stripped it clean and removed the factory sound deadner
    428.jpg

    431.jpg
    432.jpg
deadner Applied (sorry for the crappy Ipod pics :) )
  • RadioRaccoonRadioRaccoon New Wagonist
Also A few months back i sold my z6 block to a friend, so i decided to use the a6 block that came with my wago instead, i inspected it before it went to the machine shop and its actually in better condition than the z6 block i had!
    433.jpg
    What might this be?
    434.jpg
    435.jpg
Ta daaaa!!!! Like new D16A6 Block! :)

Ill tend to get more engine work done on it after i get my FJ distributors vitara bottom end kit, but till then ill focus on the interior.
