(EE/EY/EF) D.I.Y Ventvisor

21.jpg
I did this mod like a month ago. Another great accessory. But I will warn you this is not a direct fit. It will need to be trimmed namely where it meets the mirror. I used the ventvisors for a 90-93 accord wagon. These were the only ones I could find to come close. I'll add to this later.

  • I called my local parts house and they didn't show any vent visor model for a 90-93 Accord Wagon, only the 4Dr and coupe.

are they just ID10Ts or what? I'm with you Akiraboy but where did you find these?

    hey akiraboy -

how did you cut your visors to fit? i bought some designed for the accord wagon, but they just crack and crumble when i try to cut them to fit my civic wagon. any suggestions for a clean cut? did you melt the plastic together after cutting? yours look really clean. i don't want to waste another $30.

    thanks for your help.

I've also got a 1991 Accord Wagon, and I can tellyou that the 4dr Accord vents are exactly the same for Accord Wagon. I've got a brand new set at home, that needs fitting on the Accord. My Shuttle only has a driver-door vent, the other three are missing :(

what are main purpose for them things

I use them so i can leave the window cracked and let air in without rain getting in the car. they're especially helpful in the summer so you can leave the windows cracked when parked so the car stays cooler - without worrying about getting your seats wet.

I'm a big fan of the In-channel vent visors, so I've just invested in a front pair for the Accord (as according to the suggestions of those before me)...I'm working out the kinks now, and taking pics to throw up a quick-n-easy step-by-step guide online. If its successful I'll add the link to this post so everyone can get in on the love. If its unsuccessful then I'll add the link so everyone can laugh at me.
  • Cool I'd like to see a step-by-step on how to trim em up to fit.

good for when smoking cigarettes. Let's see pics where they meet up with the mirrors?

Sorry for the delay, I've gotten to a good stopping point with the In-Channel Vent Visors attempt, and the bottom line is...they don't really work very well. :(

If you'd like to see my step-by-step process, here's the website:

    http://www.bassettsnose.com-a.googlepages.com/home

...but, really, I can save you the time by warning that the result is a poor fitment along the channel in the middle. They'll squeeze in at the sides, but the middle has a gap in fitment. I'm going to experiment with various kinds of weather stripping to see if I can't find a way to make them work (and stay on at highway speeds), but unless someone smarter than myself can come up with a better idea for making these fit, I'd say the In-Channel Vent Visors are probably out. Any and all ideas and suggestions are Very Readily welcomed, altho the suggestion to stop trying this sort of thing has already been voiced by the locals. :D

I'm not shure whats going worng. But my 90-93 accord visors , arn't even close to fitting.
I'm going to try ordering another set. I'll post up some pics later today to show the fitting.

  • accord 4dr = accord wagon, visors are exactly the same. I have them on my accord wagon. I don't know if they could fit my shuttle, but the visors I have for my shuttle are definately different on the rear doors: they are much longer than the accor ones.

if you use the vent visors from a 4dr civic you do not need to cut
use the stick on stly for the front and use the accord rear kinda alot of visors to buy but looks good

Well I finally went out and got a set that works. Went to AUTO ZONE and picked up a set for a Accord Wagon.

    269.jpg

Side by side. the accord wagon, and accord sedan.

notice how the wagon one has more of a bend.

    270.jpg

the rear visors. The wagon one is the square one, wile the sedan has a pointed tip.

    271.jpg

I'll get pics of them on the wagon. I already installed them. Looks great.

what are you talking about...? Accord wagon is the same as accord sedan.... This is my accord wagon, notice the pointed tip on the rear doors.... these are OEM Honda visors :) I don't know where the square visors come from?

Notice how your rear visor covers both panes of glass? And the one mentioned earlier only covers the first (main) pane?
  • akiraboyakiraboy HondaCivicWagon.com Founder
sorry to say but thats the problem, you'd almost need to make a hybrid kit. Mine covers the rear windows partially, SUCKS! The front visors need to be heated, bent down slightly and trimmed where they meet the mirrors.

If anyone lives near the company Ventvisor
(I was told at one time)
that they would be willing to put together a Kit for any car by using their existing inventory, In other words drive down there & let them fit up a wagon with the closest possible matches for 4 doors, once that happens anyone can order that specific 88-91 civic wagon kit.

    :D

Yep, it's fairly obvious that tht's the difference. But mine are OEM Honda, I guess the other ones are not? The OEM visors I have for the Shuttle also cover both panes. I think that looks better also.

Can you post up a link to the exact ones which you bought please so that we can all clear them out completely of all their stock. :D

    Should be self explanitory.

Accord wagon. You don't need a link.

Please don't bump threads that are 2 1/2 years old. Especially so you can say 'x2'. That's just as stupid as hell.
  • 1 point 61 point 6 New Wagonist
I hate to bump this, but I've been searching the forums a lot and came up with the conclusion that Accord Wagon fronts and sedan rears. However some people say sedan front and rear will work.

Anyone running just EF sedan visors?
  • My friends friend bought eBay civic sedan ones for his wagon and they were way off, so I bought them and put them on my gfs civic sedan :P
  • 1 point 61 point 6 New Wagonist
GOOD info, cause that is exactly what I was going to do. Do you remember if the sedan rears were close to fitting the wagon?
  • A friend had the ef sedan visors on his wagon, the rear ones are probably 3+ inches too short.
