A selfmade Aux-In to connect my mp3-player to the realy oldschool OEM-radio (you can see it on the interior-pic).
I like your clean civic. Fog lights are great!
I also like my oldschool Blaupunkt radio-casette player it fits to the dash board really good.
Could you explain me how to do this selfmade Aux-In to connect my mp3 player also?It isn't buzzing when you listening to music from mp3player?
Could you explain me how to do this selfmade Aux-In to connect my mp3 player also?It isn't buzzing when you listening to music from mp3player?
I did this with my first radio what was in it, the stock one. There was a port at the back side where you can add an extra cassette player for example. Don't had it any more. Worked fine, but the radio was terrible. You need a radio with that port on it to do it the easy way. Just find out, on which pin the audio signal came out and on which pin it came back in. Easy to see, because in stock there is a cap on it which connect these both pins. If you found the pins, get on the fitting plugs, an AUX port and a bit of wire. That's all.
Updates will come. Newes one: I build in the cluster from a 1gen EDM CRX 1.6i - my donor car for the swap. The Exhaust is done. I had some electrical problems so far. Some VDO extra gauges are on the way.
:P
I think I need to pick up a hatch :P How was the brown top swap? Notice a huge difference in the added weight?
I hadn't realy driven it yet.
I swapped from the carbed 1.3 (71 hp) to the injected 1.6 DOHC (125hp+) - that's nearly a double of power. I think extra weight isn't realy to be sneezed at. Possible it will bring a bit of extra traction on the front tires and that's a thing the Civic realy needs. And about cornering handling: The car will get stunt bars and extra stabilizers at the front and rear.
Just out of curiousity. Where did you get the rear spoiler?
On a classic Honda meeting a guy came to me and said "What your car still needs is a rear spoiler. I think I should have one left." That's how I got it. :P
Nice work! If you ever want a set of CRX AS seats for your Hatch I got a set in my garage. One is nearly perfect while the other looks like somebody threw a hot exhaust pipe on top of it as the top layer of material is gone but no tears or rips still.
Keep up the awesome work. May I ask how you are getting all this through TUV?
never really liked this generation of civic but they are starting to grow on me. looks super clean man! and i used to hate honda blue but now i love it evder since i had a blue wagon lol. The fogs really look good too.
I had a set of blue CRX seats :X But I think I want to keep the stock seats.
TÜV isn't done yet. I'm still on the build. I had found an tuner in Nürnberg who want to manage that. Will be expencive, but fully street legal in the end - exept the corner light^^
Not realy. Need to build my own fuel system, because I can't found an FI-Civic over here. Lots of wiring had to be done, etc. In the end it took me nearly 4 months but incl. a restauration (exept the paint).
That's how the car looks right now after these 4 months:
@ragenasian: You still have the steering wheel from the CRX?
Nope, sorry, started cleaning up the house and the garage and tossed or sold whatever I didn't need anymore. I will keep a look out in the military junkyards for you though.
Love the 1.6i and the sidemarkers! I assume you're staying with the blue? Are you planning on getting torsion bars now that you have the heavier engine installed?
Still got more nice parts for the Civic:
- A/C system
- shifter bushings made out of PU
- new undamages cigarette lighter mount
- keyless fuel door
- switch for headlight washers (hopefully the system will follow...)
- leather shift boot
- some parts for the new fuel tank
- and this:
With a little bit of work, they should look like these:
Hey Kroete Billboard is selling some Headlight guards. Don't know if they will fit though. Check it out, and glad to see you still have the Civic! Keep the updates coming.
Comments
Changed a bit on the interior:
And it's lowerd now. Not much... but I like it like it is.
The pic was taken a few hours after putting in the (completly) new springs. So in between it gets just a bit lower.
What camera do you use for these shots, if you don't mind me asking
did u put leds in the top over the gauges ?
There're no LEDs... I just put it completely into pieces and cleaned it. You don't believe how much dirt is in there...
Also get my hands on a set of old Konis (yellow) x)

@ragenasian: You still have the steering wheel from the CRX?
i might b walking by it n the junk yard ....
Thx for the offer, 3rd4ce, but that steering wheel was never available in the US
- OEM arm rest
- OEM rear speaker setup
- USDM tail lights
- chrome door handles
- shift knob and cigarett lighter from an '80s Prelude
- some badges
And I did some detail work. Because the old stickers looked like junk I made some new ones.
I reworked the USDM taillights as well.
And I ordered some audio stuff. A Blaupunkt Wiesbaden CM41 headunit and a Blaupunkt CDC-M3 10disc disc changer - both from '89.
Last but not least, visit my project on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/BrowntopHatch
I ripped of the old cloth, so that I can cover it with some interior matching blue cloth later.
The Honda-Badge is recolored.
The new head unit is cleaned up.
And I collected some parts for the suspension.
"New" Koni Sport shock absorbers. Actually they are used, but only for about 20k km.
An Energy Suspension Master Kit.
And a set of ST Suspension anti-swaybars.
The swaybar and some of the bushings are installed yet.
I scored and bought some NOS doors as well!
You should get one of these:
I'll stay with blue, but not that blue. Currently I have B26M Avignon Blue. The repaint will be B31M Astral Blue. It's darker
- A/C system
- shifter bushings made out of PU
- new undamages cigarette lighter mount
- keyless fuel door
- switch for headlight washers (hopefully the system will follow...)
- leather shift boot
- some parts for the new fuel tank
- and this:

I have a little soundcheck as well:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=LrMkJbp5um4
And another preview how the paint job should look like
Found these pics on facebook, it's isn't my car.
Don't think the covers fit on my headlights and over the bumps on my corner lights...
Some more updates:
Took a week of work and did some bodywork and other work that had to be done.
A/C condensor and front anti-swaybar installed.
I started to prepare the front bumper for the painting.
I worked a bit on the cornerlights.
Before:
After:
Polished and installed the second USDM taillight.
Installed the new mounting plate for the cigarette lighter.
Removed the old underbodyprotection from the skirts to check out the rust. Surpurice, there wasn't less then expected.
Rustfree.
A bit on the rear on the right side near an earlier did "semi-professional" rust repair.
After. Looks much better.
The left side.
After.
Here some as well. It's done as well, but I don't have a picture of that. The camera battery was empty...
Finally I got the new screws for the new fuel tank.
And I bought some new speakers.
5,25" Blaupunkt GT Power 54.3x for the front
4" Blaupunkt GT Power 40.2x for the rear
The rear one dosn't look that bad under the covers, didn't they?
And a friend found the hood I still need to finish the swap.
