End link geometry?

I have a question regarding the geometry of the end links.

So this is the way I had things set up. The spherical bearing in there is pretty much at its limits and angled back a good ways. From what I've read it seems things work out better the more 90 degree you can get them to each other.

So I ordered some longer class 12.9 bolts, as well as class 10.9 washers to add as spacers to get the geometry a little better. I've seen other setups where they have spacers in there as well, I'm just wondering if anyone else has run them like this, and if so how it's held up.

Also, is it best to have the end links just be dead slack while it's sitting there, or have a little tension pushing down, or tension pulling up?

What mounting brackets are you using on the bar? You can try elongating the bolt holes so that you can move brackets forward, hence moving the bar forward and fixing your problems.
