head intercompatibility

what heads will fit on a zc block: obd0, 5 speed, dpi, sohc, non-vtec
i need to do this as cheaply as possible so looking for the widest assortment of replacements possible to compare with the rebuilding price


did some searching... if i missed a sticky on it, i apologize for my nooby-ness

    Um... they all do lol

    Pay attention to cam gears and timing. I recently put an A6 head on my B2. I got some mixed info, and at the end of the day found TDC the old fashioned way.

    Your safest bet is to find any cleanish SOHC OBD-0 head.

    yep you can make anything work! d-series has more info than someone can possibly digest on this.

    your SOHC non-VTEC obd1 ZC is pretty much a d16a6 that comes in the rt except for the actual cam in the head.

    Pretty sure you're wrong about that...
