henkris2`s Shuttle RT4wd

Here is my car! I`m picking it up on Friday. Quite a drive home :encouragement: (1600km/1000 miles)
Hope to encounter some snow in the mountains.

My plans atm is just to keep it stock. At least until the spring.
When I get it safely home, the car is in need of a full service and a timing belt replacement.
Really looking forward to this, as I`m very fond of oil changes.

The plan is to replace all the fluids.

Diff oil, engine oil, gearbox oil, brake fluid, anti freeze, do the brakes, injector cleaner and of course all the filters.

Will post as I go!

Picked up the car in a town called Bodø on Friday. Drove it 1500 km through Sweden to get it home. No faults. Not even in need of engine oil. I am impressed :-D

The car has a bad 2nd gear when shifting quickly. Hoping to solve that with a oil change.

Well... It didn`t get any better regarding the 2nd gear synchro. So I have to rebuild the transmission.
My local Honda dealer quoted me approx 4000 Norwegian Kroner for the parts alone(!!) That equals to 6-700 USD.

Luckily I got in contact with Tegiwa Imports in the UK. They where much cheaper. So I`ll buy the parts I need from them.

On the other hand. The car is really in mint condition. Totally rustfree.
Replaced the diff oil, engine oil, sparkplugs and fuel filter last week. All OEM parts. Nice feeling having done that!
  • I was having the same problem with second gear, didn't crack, but was very difficult to shift in it! Changed tranny's oil (Castrol 75w140) and it got worse! But now I have drived ~1000 km and it's better! Still bad shifting while engine is cold, but when it totaly warms up, the shifting is good, also doing it fast..

Really REALLY looking forward to a new season of ice racing. Had a blast in my old Shuttle Turbo.
My cousin have also bought himself a Shuttle now. Team Slutty on Ice 2014!

Tomorrow I`m going to replace the timing belt, waterpump, anti freeze and thermostat.

Every thing went as planned. New timing belt, water pump and thermostat in place.
Cleanded out and replaced all the anti freeze as well.

Replaced the brake fluid and cleaned the brakes a couple of days ago.

All ready for ice racing 9-12th. januray! :-D

    Will post a video
