Band Wagon
So back in 2010 i was looking to build an Honda but the thing was i wanted it to be 1.something not many people had 2.had a d16 engine and 3.had at least 300 whp and could be daily driven. So i came across the civic wagon and i just knew at that time i needed to have one of those and so the journey began.
Bought her for $1100 running horrible paint job but had a d16y7 engine with a PL3 4.43 tranny had good potential since the beginning.
after i bought it i said its time to take it to paint.
While she was on paint job i decided i wanted to go for a full built d16 turbo project which and i decided to make some space up front.
and then took her back home for some quality waiting time for parts to arrive
some times what can be bad for someone can mean good news for someone else as happened some guy across the island crashed his turbo d16 EG coupe and i stumbled across the ad in the web i bought the car with almost everything i needed for my build for $1500 the car had cp pistons, eagle h rods, d17 crank, walbro 400lph in tank fuel pump, auto meter boost, oil pressure, and egt gauges and so on......
and so the engine building began took the act pressure plate which the car also brought with the d17 crank rods and piston to balance to the machine shop.
and started working on the new block i bought since the other one had no paperwork so i rather play it safe with a legit block. We started grinding the main cap area to fit in the d17 crank in it. (job wasnt that bad some grinding here and there and thats all.
after a couple of days working on the engine we had the product done and it was just awesome to see it done i just couldnt wait to hear it scream for the first time.
the day after we decided to throw it early in the morning inside the engine bay just to see what it looked like.
also time to call out some of the parts in there like the innovative traction bar and mounts. also the neukin ax turbo manifold, bisimto stage 2.4 turbo camshaft, bisimoto valve springs and reatainers also ferrea +1mm valves, ported, worked and polished head.
also edelbrock intake manifold.
after engine was in and all the new parts installed
we also went with the wire tuck and rywire harness (thanks rywire great customer service)
function and form type 1 coilovers. some time later we finished up with the engine. griffin custom radiator thanks julio@bisimoto for the help.
tial bov, msd coil and ignition cap, nology spark plug wires, golden eagle fuel rail, aeromotive fuel pressure regulator, allstar catch can, turbonetics 60/63 turbo, full an hose treatment (pain in the ass). hope you like my progress will take more photos and update.
