My 89 old skool build

Hello all, I just recently purchased a 1989 Honda Civic Wagovan on May 15th 2013. I love this thing and have a lot of stuff in store for it.

As of right now it is bone stock, and is my daily driven vehicle.

I didnt like it, and it cluttered the engine bay

I also just purchase the rear brake system off a 1989 Honda CRX (disc brakes) to do a drum to disc conversion (I hear its kind of a pain lol)

Just ordered a PWJDM shiftknob for the wagon. When it gets here thinking about installing it and the short throw shifter, and removing the cat

Thank you and I sure am. I think the next upgrade I might get will be a new hatch. I hate how the bolts got broken off inside of it that hold the license plate up. At the moment as you can see,its being held up with a cloths hanger lol. I tried to extract the bolts, but ended up braking the bit off inside of em =(. If I have really crappy luck in my search (as im sure I will) I may just grind them off completly and weld on some nuts in there place. I just don't want it to look ghetto lol.

I'm glad you like it =). Yes I haven't done much to it,but enjoy it so much since owning lol. I am currently seeking information about what the stock size exhaust piping is on it. I'm going to be doing a cat delete (possibly get $30 for it at a scrap yard for a new part lol) As I think it is bad anyway.

i loved my b&m shifter on my old 89 civic si. it shifted so nice with a skunk2 heavy shift knob. but i snapped the threaded part off of the shifter while shifting.

O damn lol, Yea originally the skunk2 weighted knob was going to go on it for my eg hatch build, but decided I wanted a little something for the dd. Im hoping the b&m short throw and pwjdm weighted knob work well together.
Also i got the cat off,but still working on a few tweaks lol.

Haven't gotten around to finishing up the exhaust today, but decided to mess around with the hatch. As you can see the license plate bolts broke off inside of the holes. This made me have to use a wire cloths hanger to hold up my license plate. I got lucky and extracted the bolts. Luckily I found my Mugen license plate bolts from my first honda build (94 Integra RS) and installed them on the wagovan. It looks so much better.

Well today was the day the shift knob should of been here but didn't arrive =(. Probably due to the horrible weather we have been having lately. Hopefully should be here by monday. Anyway, while I was waiting on it to arrive, I finished up the exhaust. Now I can start driving again =)
  • Low_LyfeLow_Lyfe Wagonist
So I've been doing a lot of tracking for that shift knob, and they say its finally out for arrival! While im waiting I figured id take some pictures of the interior as I haven't gotten any yet.

You are going to love the ride with the Tein S Tech. springs, at least I know I did. Looks like you are off to a good start and I know I'm a little late on the welcome but Welcome to the site

Lol, I wish it was brown. That way I could of went with the aztec green pearl. IMO the brown would compliment the color better plus I wanted the bronze blox knob lol, but the grey will go great with midori green.

Thanks, I sure will. I'm planning on a trip to the salvage yard in st.louis. Maybe ill get lucky there =)

I was outside today, cleaning shop and just realized I got another goody for the wagovan lol. After I got my hatch's z6 motor on the engine stand, I went and popped the hood on her to reveal the new engine for the wagovan =). It is a d15B7, but im going to make it a mini me build. Although id like to go GSR or k series, the mini will be a fun daily project.

Picked this up last night =) Really reason why I had to get it, is because as much traveling as I do, I use my gps feature on my phone a lot and that sucks the battery life out of it lol. I don't know why the lighter dont work, maybe a fuse? It's ok though as a radio would be a nice little upgrade anyway.

So I went to a local junk yard the other day,to find a male adapter for my radio for the wagon (I guess the previous owner had a stereo that go stolen and they cut the adapter with it.) Now I got all I need to hook up the stereo, but don't want to mess with wireing at the moment lol. So I decided it was time to do a little shop cleaning, and when I went on break I started a little project on the wagon. I wanted to relocated the front license plate.

Thank you =). I changed my mind about the radio install lol. I decided to go a head and do it after in installed the b&m shifter. I was posting pics and a fellow friend informed me that I put it on backwards lol,so ill re install it tomorrow with pictures.
  • Low_LyfeLow_Lyfe Wagonist
Ok so I got the B&M short throw shifter back on with the PWJDM knob on as well. Its a really nice combo! I also got the stereo installed too.

Whats up guys! Last night I was playing with the stereo and noticed that my speakers are blown, so I went out a got a new set! Also this may be the last upgrade for a while as there are some good shows coming up in the area. We got a local one coming up the 28th and 29th and plan on entering the wagon in it. Not sure what class I want to enter her in yet, either daily driver or work in progress lol. Anyway here are a few more pics. Enjoy =)

Found a local team in town, and they really like the wagon lol. I decided to take the slipstrems off the girl's rolla, and slap em on the wago for the little get together!

Figured I'd do a little update! I am in the process of looking for a DC center console to swap out with the wagovan's. Hopefully its a usdm console and not a jdm one lol.

    New intake system for her
