Hey everyone, been a member of the forums for a couple of years now, but I'm starting to buy/sell some more parts here and progress through a long-awaited build, so I figure it's about time for an intro. I'm a long time Honda fan but fairly new to actually building them, although I've got a lot of experience with older cars and other various mechanical stuff.
Been driving an '89 2wd wagon (blue ecstasy) with a mini-me swap for a couple of years now. Other upgrades include BW coilovers, bigger front brakes, and pretty much every simple bolt-on you can think of. Bought the car for around $1200 after selling my '05 RSX-S because I wanted something that was cheap to own and easy to build/maintain (plus I was a poor-as-hell recent graduate at the time). A long time friend of mine that has been building EFs since I can remember (~12yrs?) helped me with the build, and is still helping me learn the ins and outs of everything Honda.
I'm currently putting a DOHC ZC into an automatic RT4wd wagon (brown ecstasy) that I picked up for $800. I've gotten rid of the power steering components and converted it to manual transmission, and the motor is basically ready to install at this point. Every single bushing/boot/balljoint/bearing/etc. is getting replaced. Basically giving the car a full restoration, aside from paint and body work. I'll hopefully get around to creating a build thread here pretty soon, just need some more pics. Here's a quick one of the car in its current state:
Oh and I don't really miss the RSX at all. The 2wd wagon in its current state handles the curves and high speeds just about as well, is lighter, and I can drive the shit out of it without feeling bad. Although sometimes I do miss that K-series :cool:
Anyway, great community you guys got going on here. Lots of useful info and a great marketplace (shameless plug: go buy some of my stuff! I'm running out of space..)
