HELP!: Trading my wagon for Low miles 300zx (Advices, Opinions)

Hey guys im thinking about trading my wagon for a low mileage 1991 Nissan 300zx 2+2 automatic with only 47k miles red, no rust i was told there are some paint dullness. Interior is so fresh. I will post some pic of it from the ad he posted. So far i haven't seen the Z in person but on pictures. Planning to take a look at it tomorrow. Just want to hear other thoughts about this. Guy who own this Z is super interested on my wagon and he want a straight up trade. Help me guys deciding. Honestly, i like this Z as well but i really hate to let go of my wagon but im getting bored with it and i want something different now.

It looks in awesome condition no doubt but me personally, I dont like those cars haha. On the other hand, your wagon is nasty man I would be sad to trade it. But this is a site for civic wagons so the majority of people are going to say keep the wagon lol. Let us know what you do!

Trade for the Nissan...sell the Nissan for some profit, then buy a nicer wagon!

that's comparing apples and oranges... and 300's are heavy pigs.
  • If you trade it a piece of you will die inside and you will never be whole again....until you buy another WAGON !!! :devilish:

Those Nissans are really nice cars and were very advanced at the time. Only 47k??? sheesh, that's low. I'm not a fan of red and I don't drive automatics if I can help it, but I would much rather have that Nissan than a hellaflush stanced lowrider econo-box.
  • Even a hellaflush stanced lowrider econo-box wagon is better then a heavy red gas guzzling pig magnet 300 Z....Just saying

There is an old saying buyer beware.

He wants to trade you a "low mileage" 300z for you wagon.

    There is a catch.

I've always liked those Z's but it just kills it to be an Auto. Sports cars and autos don't belong in the same sentence.

I have a few cars but we always go to the wagon to putter around in. I guess cheap to run etc.

I'd take it to a shop and have them look over it with a fine tooth comb. Something is a miss.

Is that one turbo? If not then I change my vote - keep the lowrider.

stupid forum software is cropping and reducing the size of the original image:

You mean intelligent, well thought software is cropping and reducing the size of the original image.

BTW- these are the worst threads by far. Can you link us to a 300z forum where you asked the same question? lol
  • The wagon is only 1 of my 5 vehicles. Got a different styles from Suv to Pick up truck to Convertible sports car to Econo car like the mazda2. I can always have another wagon if i like and build it again from scratch. My main concern is how much do we really value our wagons vs a car like what i am talking about in terms of a trade in. I really like my wagon but i am too hesitant to let it go. So i posted it here to hear guys thoughts before its too late.

So far, if you're referring to me Charb, I never asked anyone, any forum other than civicwagon.com. Reason is, I really like to hear what a true civic wagon enthusiast feedback rather than one who doesn't have what we drive. Apparently, if i ever post it to other forums like nissan, 300zx i will get the opposite like what i am getting on this forum plus i'll probably just waste my time and i bet the majority on that forum don't even have an idea what our cars worth to compare to their Z's.

As for the trade, the guy hasn't talked to me again. Last time we exchange text was he's just waiting for the brake master cylinder to arrive from the shipment. I was told by him when we first talked, from his texts, "Yea original owner put on 42,000 on it. Then he passed away and it was given to his son and his son just kept it in storage and I bought it from him. No body rust. Slight fadding. But overall great condition. Right now it does need a brake master cylinder but its not hard to fix. We got it with about 42,000 I think. It was never really a daily. It was our families Summer. So whoever wanted to take it out took it wherever. It wasent running right when we got it and that's when we found out it need new injectors so we ended up get 6 new injectors. Car fax is clean. Like I said before the original owner passed away and it went to his son. And his son just stored it until I bought it in 09 I think? Or 2010."

That is all fellas! Thanks for all the feedbacks.

Z32 is one of my favorite Japanese sports cars from the 90's.

That being said...with it being a pregnant Z (2+2) and autotragic...it has to be a pass. Turbo 5-speed only to even be considered...and given that scenario I'd be asking what was wrong with the Z.

Although...if you wanted to trade to flip the Z after the transaction, I think you'd stand to be on the positive end of the deal.
