Fuel tank hardware

Alright the only thing holding me back from starting my 91 rt right now is the lack of fuel tank hardware. I need to find replacement bolts that are the same length as the wagon bolts.



This is what I need... Does anyone know of a car that has a similar length? I tried grabbing some ef sedan bolts and they are WAY to small...

Got enough room to run a coupler and some studs? Just extend those sedan ones a little.

I could give that a shot... I had to cut the straps to drop the tank because everything was rusted.

other than heating and bending a bolt, dorman/rockford makes a button head battery bolt which is the same design.
it is bigger though. 3/8''x10 1/4''. its an old part # hd30.

That might be do-able. Can you point me in the direction of those so I can take a look?

hd30 is an old part number through napa. other than an auto parts store that sells dorman stuff, i would say a hardware store like fastenal, or rogo.

I got shafted on the straps from rock auto. Both sides don't fit. One to long, the other to short.




Here's the sedan fuel tank bolt which is super short.

I dont think there is any way around hanging this thing besides oem straps... I could get around the hardware... but one strap is longer than the other. I need this fixed asap.
