Clutch selection

Hey guys,

I'm facing abit of a dilemma now that I need to buy a new clutch.

I'm looking at a Exedy stage 1 rated at 232ft/lbs, I'm hoping to push about 180ft/lbs with the JRSC. Will this clutch be fine, no slipping and can take the abuse of launches every now and then?

How does the cable fair with this clutch? Will it cause it to break prematurely?

Also my car is a 89 model I believe, so I need a 20 spline clutch correct?

Thanks!

The cable will be fine. The weak link is nearly always the pedal assembly. I believe 20 spline is correct. Should be listed to fit '89-'00.

On my JRSCed RT, i'm using a heavy duty (dual diaphragm) pressure plate and an organic disc. Works great. Don't buy the metallic puck clutch for street driving.

I have a cc kevlar disc and cc 6 puck sprung disc for the 88-89 civic trans if interested. Both are basically brand new. I might have a throw out bearing as well for you.

For how much power is it rated and what is your price?

Am i able to just purchase a FWD clutch kit and buy the 4WD specific throw out bearing? This will still work correct?

call import replacement parts and ask for Mike. tell him what you need and he will be familiar. i got the stage 2 Exedy and fit just fine. you do need a different throw out bearing....
