Earl, my 1990 civic wagon.

I bought this wagon in February, had some rust ran great, needed a new driver's side fender, and doesn't have a stereo. I was looking at wagons for a long time but my other project car K swapped hatch was taking up a lot of time and money. I needed a parts hauler that got better gas mileage than the Silverado 3/4 ton.

So here Earl is the day I got him.

Didn't care to much for the rims.. or the spray painted blue calipers and drums so that was my first agenda.

I bought some bottle caps off craigslist for a low price and then went to discount tire and bought some falken ziex 512 185/60/14s. I've used these tires on every one of my Hondas and have never had a problem with them.

I bought this fender off this site from user Charb. Bought some color matched paint wet sanded it up and re sprayed it. Was happy with the results for now.

Here is a picture of Earl with the new fender on.

I know some of you asked in my introduction thread about the sun roof, I honestly don't know who installed it but it doesn't leak and I was just as befuddled when I saw it.

As for future plans, this build will be a slow one until my other car is done.. which should be by June.

I plan on taking the D15z1 out of my civic vx which is getting the k20 and mating it with an 88 - 91 crx HF transmission. I drive A LOT so I want something with great gas mileage I am hoping for around the 42 mark with this set up which seems like an easy goal. I will do a full rebuild on the d15z1 and use the HF clutch and flywheel. I know it is going to be gutless but I don't really need two race cars.

Clear Corners - I'd like to get some of these but I am waiting to buy them.

Electric Locks.. I need this want this gotta have it.

Cup holders - Saw the wal mart item may see if I can pick something similar up.

Stereo - This isn't to important to me but eventually I'd like one.

That sums it up for now thanks for checking this out.

Can you also include a pic of the interior cause I'm curious on how it looks since the space between the headliner board and the roof seems to be thin to fit the thing.

does the roof feel ok with the sunroof in it? I have a power one from a hatch but concerned about roof strength since I didn't pull the whole roof with the reinforcments...
  • roof is solid, that was my concern too when I was looking at it
  • I like the sunroof. Sounds like it does OK in a wagon. :encouragement:
  • I like the sunroof quite a bit also, works great for when you rip a nasty fart and need to circulate some air quick
  • I work Saturdays tech officiating at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe and was pleased to find another tech also has a wagon here are 2 pics
