Measurements of a 4WD front diff?

Does anyone have a 4WD front diff out of the box that they would please be able to do some measurements of for me?

I've got a spare box, but don't want to rip it down at present as I've got no where to store/do it whilst it's in pieces.
Can anyone please help out ?

What do you need measurements for?
  • To see if I can find a suitable LSD.
I am aware of the 12 verses 10 bolt issue.

I want to know how far out the ring gear flange is from the ZC diff.

Failing that, there are other options potentially available to me.
Due to the link up between Honda/Rover in the 80's & 90's with gearboxes/cars that the US didn't get.
So likely haven't been able to consider/dismiss as possible solutions.
  • Yeah, I should be able to do this over the weekend.

    Hiya,

Did you get a chance to take a look please ?

    I've grabed a scrap Y1 and Y21 diff from a mate.
I have a spare L3 DOHC ZC box in my garage to strip down now too.
    All for comparisions.

I forgot. Going to the shop tonight. I set a reminder on my phone.

    Sorry. :(

    Okay.

    Bearing mount diameter - 40mm
    Bearing OD - 80mm
Bolt hole cross distance - 122mm
    Overall length - 130mm
    Speedogear OD - 93mm

I did not measure the OD of the larger FD gear.

    There are 12 bolts.

I didn't think about measuring the offset. I'll try to do that next time I'm at the shop.

Really sorry to hijack your thread but I have a question. Does any one know if a 3-4 gear set will work from another tranny? Was not sure if LowFlyin has access to a tranny that was apart. Any chance of measuring the gear set?
  • LowFlyin'LowFlyin' Moderator
Yeah. I have a trans that's apart. What dimensions do you want? I also have an Si cable trans apart, too.
  • Mucho thanks.
I'll measure up what I've got and add to the thread.

Looking for the inner and outer diameter of the sleeve that the gear is on. If that makes sense.
