Here we go again, it's our 22nd anniversary and time for the getaway. We ain't QUITE snowbird age yet, but i am seeing why folks "want to go where it's warm". (thanks Jimmy!)
For the third year now, that means the Florida Keys. We left from my work Friday noon, headed 8 hours south (about halfway) to visit 3rd4ce and his lady in Spring Hill, FL.
Here's the obligatory state line shot
and the first night's campsite at Chip's hacienda
in a little while we'll head another hour south to Clearwater, check on Morty's progress. Maybe I can help him get to the meet tomorrow.

i think if you left your car there a few hours it would be ready for paint! Might need need glass, too!

...really it's just this one particular guy.
So now it's nearly 9pm, and we're shut down for the night in Florida City, where I-75 turns into US 1. We'll head out early in the morning for the last 100 miles. More pics to come, I promise!
Good to have you at the Tampa Racing / WAGON Meet.. That camper is always the center of attention..
Hope you guys have a blast on your vacation.. Now, go take some Good Pics!
our intention was to have Anne's first paddle on her new board at Anne's beach. Nope. Too dern cold! Maybe we'll get in the water tomorrow when it warms up some.
Was a good meet...
Here's some pics.. I got a lot, but I couldn't get them all...
We had FREE Hot Dogs, Chili, Chips, Soda & Waters...
Few Crowd Shots
And Some Car Shots...
All in all, it was a Good Meet & A Good Location.
Well we're back home now. Due to spotty service way down there, was unable to post pics during the fun. Here's a few:
Finally arrived at BPK,
too early for check in, so we went to the local church flea market
And cycled out to Blue Hole, an old quarry and nature preserve. Big Iguana.
and one of the resident 'gators
After a beer and a quick nap, we made it on over to our home for the week. Big Pine Key Fishing Lodge. Great place.
of course, we were welcomed by the locals
when it finally quit raining, we were treated to a big rainbow
Even the frogs were seeking higher ground! This guy jumped onto my shorts in the second-floor bathhouse
Looks like he had to get Economy Reindeer...
And, You didn't Molest the Wild-Life this year? Right?
the girls encouraged each other
feral chickens at the local Winn-Dixie grocery store
And later, caught the big buck of the camp. This 8-pointer was one of only two we saw with typical/ symmetrical horns. Like a 1/2 scale model of the real thing
anne was getting the feel of her new SUP
Sunset shot after paddling Bahia Honds
it's just freaky seeing this behavior
