the key word i saw .......

Shuttle pacecar has had all stickers removed and sold to someone who is apparently putting a Bseries in it. It was replaced as Honda NZ offered the use of a Brand New CRZ as pacecar.

This may give an indication of how serious this build is being taken. The weight loss program for the doors:

Weight and aero, old fuel tank is gone and from rear seats back the floor is cut out and will be reformed to assist with better aero/downforce

New Racetech seat being mounted up with floor mounted pedals, also visable is a lack of anything else except a electric power steering pump from a Citreon

i also noticed the rear of driver seat is cut out ... thats alot of metal being removed so far

i guess to compensate for a tube frame inside maybe...?

    This is awesome.
I've always heard that the 4 and 5 doors are better for racing because of their weight transfer and overall length. Is this true?

No tube frame allowed, just roll cages. Thats the area new fuel cell and aero underbody will occupy.

Honda Cup has fairly strict rules regarding the cars retaining their original look. i.e. cant have wide guards or wings cant be higher than the roof line etc

You will find that the wheelbase is actually the same as or only slightly different than a hatch.

This build is gonna be amazing. I cant wait to watch it come together and to go as far as cutting holes in the door everywhere you can is gonna make this one light mean wagon.
