Paint for window trim

I own a 1987 hcw that has seen 25 years of Cali sunshine. So now the black paint that covers the metallic trim of the windshield and rear window is flaking off. I plan on rubbing off the rest of the deteriorating paint and repainting it. What do you guys suggest as a good primer and black paint for these metal pieces that will hold up?

    self etching primer would probably be the best. as far as paint, i would say acrylic enamel spray paint like duplicolor.
    not lacquer. just my opinion.

    dont use anything but SEM products....

    i was gonna paint mine too but for some reason i wanna go to the junkyard, just for looking and boom i found two 90-91 wagovan, i almost cry:hopelessness:

    Sem trim black is the best!!!! i have used it for years!!!!
