Band Wagon
Hello wagonists! Been lurking for a while enjoying some great builds and feeling the Wagon love!
I never knew about wagons until a few years back. I seen one and It was love at first sight. I knew I had to have one. So I started looking high and low and kept coming up empty handed. The wagon thus far has been elusive for me. All the wagons in my price range have been too far gone or get sold before I can call.
A friend of mine has been rocking this bone stock 89 DX for years. I told her if she ever let it go to give me a call. I was starting to loose hope and then the call came the other day. It's in fairly decent shape. More importantly It's unmolested and rust free. I'm very excited. I have to wait for her to pick up her new crv before she will let it go. lol. I should have my hands on it within a week. I Can't wait to drive it home clean it up and start wrenching.
Immediate Plans:
Auto to manual B18B1 swap
2" exhaust with a nice quiet muffler
EF shocks with Skunk2 sport springs
Restore Bumpers, trim, and moldings

Sold my Ls Hatch
290 miles of driving, a ferry ride and $1000 dollars later I have a 91 Dx 5 speed wagon sitting in front of my house. I'm digging the brown on tan. Really sets off my cab driver beaded seat covers. I've been affectionatelycalling it the S**t box. It's rough but it's more good than bad. It's stock aside from ebay coilovers. It has decent running Dpfi d15b that burns oil. Trans whines in fifth. Needs the front end rebuilt. The windshield is leaking and cracked. Smells like dirty socks in that sweaty mofo. I knew all this going in. Had a good buying experience, got an accurate description and decent price. It has rear mudflaps factory rear speaker pods. :encouragement:
Going to put the stock springs back in it. Swap in a lower milage d15b and dx trans. Rebuild the front suspension and hunt down all the water leaks. Then drive the wheels off of it. Lots of camping trips and nights at the drive-in are in it's future. I'd love to drop a d15z1 vx engine with a CRX hf trans. Set it on progress coilovers with hx rims and insight tires. One of these years maybe. Happy to be behind the wheel of a wagon again!
