90 Wagon in GA. NEW Wheels and Pictures 6-24

I figured I would start a new build thread for my wagon, I didn't do many build pictures for my mustang and I really regret it. So here are some things that I have done so far. When I bought the car, I did a full tune-up and replaced the distributor and had an oil change done. I also had to get a muffler because the original one rusted off as you can see in the pictures.

This is how the car looked the day I brought it home.

Heres the before, and then the new muffler, uninstalled. I don't have a picture of it installed, I'm sure everyone knows what a stock muffler looks like.

Next, the bumpers were looking a little worn and I had some time to kill, so I decided to repaint them. This is a picture of before, I will get a picture of after (apparently I only have pictures of before of the front bumper). When the guy put on the fog lights, he installed the bracket backwards, so I flipped the bracket and it looks so much better because they don't stick out near as much.

and here is a picture after I put them back on

The other day I picked up a set of fat fives, not my favorite style, I would much rather have a set of blades but these are perfect for the price ($125 and practically new tires , not matching but that doesn't bother me lol, theyre all the same size though). I am going to refinish these this weekend since they have some curb rash and the finish is not that great any more, I will take good pictures of the process. I am gonna go to the pick n pull tomorrow to look for a front lip, from what I have read when I searched that a DA integra lower valence works the best? anyone have any more info to back this up?

sorry, these are cell pics

I plan to get some lowering springs soon, hopefully the deal I'm working on now doesn't fall through. Also getting my A/C fixed this weekend thank god

Thanks for looking guys!

I think I remember that wagon for sale on CL a while back.. I think he was kinda high on price... What did ya get her for?
I see a Console & I believe dealer fogs, passenger mirror, roof rack & front and rear mud flaps.. NICE Start! People Kill for all those options..

Yeah, he was kinda high on the price. It was listed for 2300 and I talked him down to 1600 before I even made the 2 hr trip there. When I got there the car wouldn't start a few times, so he came down to 1400. From what I asked and read its a main relay problem which is an easy fix. Are the fogs dealer fogs? because the holes cut out for them are really shitty. Yes it does have front and rear mudflaps and a roof rack. Overall I am very pleased with what I spent for it (my gf thinks I'm spending too much money on it...oh well!). I posted this in the suspension and wheels category, but I don't know how often it is searched through, I am going to refinish the fat fives this weekend and I am trying to figure out what color to go with. Check out my thread there or let me know what you think would look best.

Thanks for all the comments so far guys!

main relay is easy pull it out and resolder it.

they look like a dealer install.

To make it look a little better can always get some trim tape(foam strip from mcmaster car) to put around the hole.

Looks like a u. that is how the factory did it.

I guess they are a dealer install then, because they both already have that around the holes. Do you know where I could go about getting another set of the fogs or a link to more info about them?

Glad you got him down on price, he was way up there.. I think you did good for 1,400.. Looks better than my first wagon..
  • I have this posted in the wheels and tires thread, but not many people look there I guess. I'll post it here and there to get more opinions. I am having a hard time choosing colors for my wheels and have a few options, let me know which one you think will look best.

Keep in mind that these are quick photoshops.

Black with gold inserts (I know its yellow, but imagine lol)

    719.jpg

    All black

    720.jpg

    gunmetal with black inserts

    721.jpg

Gold (probably light gold, but still unsure) with black inserts

    722.jpg

    Finally, silver with black inserts

Let me know ASAP! I want to get paint on them tomorrow lol

I like the silver with black inserts. Not a fan of gold. Seems like green might be better than gold.

I like them with the factory finish. That's just me; every once in a while I see some nice painted wheels but mostly I like 'em plain.
  • So, I have gotten a lot done lately (in my opinion lol). I bought a set of Tokico Blue shocks and Tien lowering sprins for a 88-91 civic hatch. I installed those to lower the car, I didn't do an exact measurement, but it lowered the car approximately 2-2.5". As some of you may know, I posted in the suspension wheels & tires section that I was refinishing my fat fives. I FINALLY got them done! They took me wayyy longer than I thought it would. I decided to go with the gunmetal color from duplicolor wheel paint. They didn't end up exactly the way I want, but I am happy with them. The thing that I am happiest about is the A/C is fixed! Here are some pictures from today. My brother (maroon88iroc) and I were going to do a photoshoot today with both of our wagons, but he got tied up and we couldn't do it, but we will soon! this is what everyone was waiting on, the pics!

Clean! Like that the fogs are flushed in the bumper.
  • So there haven't been many changes, just thinking about some things I would like to do if I had the money lol

Here are some of the things I got done, my brother got me a wink mirror for christmas, which I installed with the optional mounts. Heres a picture of that.

    843.jpg

I also got an "extended" throw shifter and installed it lol, its a miniature baseball bat, 18" tall

Also, here are some pictures of my car on the way to the georgia wagon meet.

damn i wish wagons go for that cheap in cali very clean car. and it came with the console too, nice...
  • So the tear down has begun. I've gotten the head off and will be taking it to the machine shop tomorrow to have it resurfaced and new valves put in. Here's some pics of after the head came off:

    520.jpg

    521.jpg

    Here's the head by itself

    522.jpg

I'm assuming that the valves that are bad are the two on the top side of the picture on the second cylinder from top. The reason I think this is because they are the only ones that were "open". When taken off, all the valves on the lower side of the photo were white as can kinda tell in the photo. Is this bad? :|

    Nice wagon...

Are you looking to get rid of your fogs?
  • No I want to keep them but I never turn them on because one of the bulbs is burnt out. When I had the bumper off I tried replacing it because I couldn't figure it out and haven't looked at it again since
  • I finally got it running after a little more than a month because of two bent valves. I have been missing driving it. I think I have decided to sell my fat fives and roll on the stock 13s while looking for some other wheels that suit my tastes better. Hopefully I can get some moar low soon too lol
  • good start
  • So, I have my fat fives sold. I was going to go pick up a set of xxr 527's today but the guy sold them out from under me, so I'm pretty pissed about that  So, I will be rolling on the 13" steelies until I find a good set of wheels that I like. Bummer
  • So, deal fell through on my wheels, but I still have them for sale and off the car. Here's how the car looks at the moment (wheels in the rear, so it is lower than it would normally be). I borrowed my brother's "special edition" hubcaps from his wagon since he has some mini wheels now.

    59.jpg
  • Nice looking car even with the special hubcaps.
Do you know how or when you bent the valves?
  • I definitely know when the valves bent, it was running great then fell on its face and idling REALLY rough, like only running on two cylinders. I still don't know why they bent, but I will be keeping an eye on all fluids and not driving it hard at all. It is running great now though!
  • So, I have a small update. Car broke down on the side of I-16, seemed like not getting any fuel. I have a few things I'm going to check when I get back home from school thanks to HCW. My brother let me borrow his wagon because I needed to get back to school.

I've been slowly selling some things and prepping for some big changes over the summer. So keep your eyes peeled for some updates over the next few months. Here's an offroading photo from before the car died on me.

more updates. these will be installed tomorrow!

Finally got my coilovers on. I don't have any measurements for how low it is, I just know that it is low haha. I'm scraping flaps everywhere, not that it is a bad thing. The rear isn't low enough for me, but they aren't wound down all the way yet. Now I just need to decide on what wheels to get and then order them. On to pics (They are just phone pics, will get actual camera pics soon):
