Gab's Wagon build

Hi.!! Hope you all are having a good day. So how do i begin this show and tell. Hmm?? (Thinking) If i can recall what really got me going on getting my hands on one of these wagons is going to forums just like we are in now and on the search for the right rig to build.I love fixing up cars when i was a bit young and in fact i started with an EG coupe. Did all kind of stuff to it and it was a fun car to drive. Sold that got in to 4X4 for a while but it's something about honda's that keeps you coming back for more.
There's ton's of import cars that you can toy with now a days and parts are easy to find. Don't know about you but I’m in to the older models Japanese cars. Man!! if I can have them all from Toyotas, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Subaru’s, Isuzu, Suzuki's I'd get them all. But the thing with older Japanese cars specially here in the states they are freaking hard to find. Parts are hard to come by and if you buy parts out of State it will cost you arm and leg for it. So the decision was made and stick to something I can really enjoy building while ride it around for daily and that is the Civic Wagon FWD or the RT4WD.
Here’s a look of my first Wagon: It’s and 91 FWD with clean interior and straight body. Lowered on no name coil over and did my very first engine swap. I was not 100% happy with it because what I really want is the AWD version of this model. While building my first Wagon I come across a Dude that want’s to get rid of his AWD version wagon and just focus on his Integra. Man!!! Did I jump all over that deal..!
On this picture you are probably wondering about the AWD rims. Didn’t have steelies at that time and the car was about to get sold so I have no choice but to take the aftermarket rims I have on and swap it with the AWD rims.

.

Soon as I sold the FWD wagon my hands was all over the RT wagon :smug:. Got me a set of Miata rims and roll on that for a while. I actually like it more than the HX civic rims i guess its because of the spacing on the spokes. They are a little wider that the HX and that makes it easier blowing out dust on the front brakes. Or just a personal choice i guess. Planning on taking this rig snowboarding so YES on the Yakima roof rack :encouragement:.

Not exactly a center cap. What i did is sanded the Miata logo flat and spray paint the H symbol on it LOL!!! It was a clean set so getting rid of it is no problem.. SOLD soon as i posted it on CL.

Got me a nice clean 15" enkie set and came up with my own center cap. It came out nice and like'n it.

Scored my self a EF hatch mid wing and installed that asap.. Then got me a top wing on ebay and played around with it. Kinda tricky making it fit but i guess it will do for now.

It took me a while to decide on what fog lights should I install on this rig. I did some research what's is easy, cost less and a factory look on the front bumper and I decided on the yellow EK fogs for this project. It’s a perfect fit for the factory cut out on the bumper. According to the specs and measurements I got from eBay it’s should be breeze to install and with a little mounting bracket mod it should work. I did run in to some problem making it sit right. The fogs are too long from front to back and it’s hitting something making it hard to mount flush. SOLUTION: In order to make it sit right I have to grind off this little piece and BOOM..!!! Got er done :encouragement: …

Here's a look of the EK fogs. They work out great and very factory look. By the way meet my Mistubishi Montero in the back. "Please Monty dont get jealous i still got the love for you LOL!!"
Yes ser they do sell them in clear.. eBay all day long.. Oh I want to see it on HIDs that will really lit up the road bro :encouragement:. I'm working on a bullbar project and Planning on hooking up my HELLA offroad lights on those bullbar Rallylights style LOL!!! Will see how it works. I'll post pics when im done. I'll pry join with you guys when there's a local meet. Let me know when you are coming down again for more junkyard adventure. Feel like wrenching for more parts and see what's in inventory..
Sorry about pics.. It's only a sample just to give you an idea.
Got the lip donor from a VW jetta i think its a year 93. It's a one piece bumper so you'll need a utility knife to cut it. Its a exact fit from end to end no cutting. Cracks me up how i discover this lip. I was on a junkyard hoping I'd find one and another guy beat me to all the potential wagon lip. He got a VW lip already in his hand and wrench'n out another one out of a volvo. He was kind a laughing at me while i was staring at this jetta bumper. To think its not going to work but i did it anyways. Bust out my utility knife with brand new blade and cut it like butter. He was like wtf?? and followed me test fit it on a EF civic. Oh Man you should have seen his face when it was exact fit.. I was like peace out bro Im outta here..!!
When I got the car it came with a no name coilovers and it ride like $#!T..!!! Got to do something about it quick so I went to my source (THE JUNKYARD) and bought me a set of KYB struts, lowering springs and a camber kit for front and back. Haven’t got it an alignment so thats one thing i need to do.
DONE check out of my to do list...
Didn't just took out high beam without replacement brotha.. Got my bull bar hooked up and no bull bar is going out without driving lights.. So no worries if i needed to lit up the road the HELLA'S will do the job :encouragement:. I will be installing a total of four just like in a rally car. All wired up to my high beam switch, turn on the high beam and "LET THERE BE LIGHT" BOOOM!!!!!
Off of a 87 Rt4wd civic
Thanks man :smug: I do little stuff here and there with my wagon when I'm taking a break improving the house we just bought. All this time those set of Sportmax 501 was just in the storage. I remember now buying it then straight in the storage because at that time i was moving out of the house we rented LOL! Yeah I'll be doing more mods, stuff that are real easy to do and keeps the wagon looking cool.
Now to install it with less pain and quick n easy.. It's very simple, fish your wire along with a 12V source, tuck em nice and neat. There you go :encouragement:.
Now for the gas cap.. Make sure to use a heavy duty adhesive double tape and clean surface with alcohol swab. To install shave old mount flat and stick steaky tape. DONE!!! like a blink of an eye LOL!!! Easy and it works.
Thanks dude.. Yep with little mods you'll be amaze on how things will turn out. Hopefully next year I'll throw down some paint but for now I'll prep the body.
Got these techniq steering wheel years back and thought I'd mount it to the wago and see how it look. It's set up on a MOMO hub and quick connect, dont know what brand but it works.
Sorting through my old stuff I be finding me some good stuff i bought years back and stored. I bought this MOMO for my boat and never got to install it because i dont have the right hub for it. After i sold the boat it was put in a box and stored away. Can't find the horn kit for it so i came up with my own see..
Test fit!! Horn works, feels good.. I'm good with that : )
Just the other day i found the horn kit for it. To finish it off I hooked it up on a NRG hub kit YEeeaaHH buddY!! If mac got the black and white version on their iphones etc. I'm calling this my apple version of steering wheel. Lol!!!
I have to drill a hole through my lip to make the install nice and clean. I made the bracket flush even with the oil pan so i can lower the car more and still have enough clearance.
Painted all the bracket mounts flat black and ready for final assembly :encouragement:
Valve cover being prep to be painted.
ARP Studs Im using for DOHC ZC (Part #)
Doing a test fit on the RC injectors making sure no leaks and all tight fit. Thinking of painting intake manifold.
So far this is the easy way to install a bung for oil return. If done right there should be no problem with oil leaks. Thinking of getting another oil pan for back up, (oil pan takes alot of beating when car is lowered) on that back up oil pan I'll weld the bung just in case this one leaks.
I have most parts on hand to complete the build, all i need is time to put it together. Hoping to get er done soon. Can't wait to see it boosted :encouragement:.
This is what i got under the hood now. Just another stock set up with intake.
