My first EE Wagon!

Hi, my name is Jim and I live in the PNW.
Specifically in Vancouver, WA, right north of Portland.
I have been researching these cars for a good while now and have been searching around on this site for about a month or so.
I just picked up a Cream and brown 1988 5 speed wagovan today and thought i would share some pics.
Spent 5 hours cleaning the outside tonight and plan on getting the old grandma smell out of the interior tomorrow, heh.
I will be the second registered owner of this car, I bought it from a 87 year old woman....
without further ado, here are some pics of when I just got it home, and some progress.

Nah, it was on CL though, she was wanting $999.99 but I think it needs a new clutch, or possibly just an adjustment? anyways, the interior smells like fart and almonds so thats next on the list.

wow, that has one of the cleanest vinyl interiors i have seen to date.
    welcome!

Yeah, the lady was 87 and garaged it most of the car's life. The interior is really clean, but it looks like she hauled dirt around in the back, lol. I have spent over 14 hours cleaning it and painting various things on it in the last two days, pictures to come, maybe tommorrow, I'm fuggin tired...

Also painted the Honda emblems satin black, along with the rear window spoiler and exhaust manifold heat shield.
The back hatch carpet was so nasty and caked in dirt, so I took it out and ran it through the wash twice. Car smells so nice now.

Beauty… It reminds me of my first Honda Wagovan. It was an 88 in the cream color. Loved that vinyl upholstery for keeping out the stains. Not fun on a hot day, though. Looks like a sweet purchase.

Plan on dropping it, throwing some diamond racing wheels on it, swapping a d16z6 in it, possibly turbo? who knows.

Yeah, maybe in the near future. If you guys know any good buys on some lowering springs/shocks let me know, I need to drop this car pronto!

very cool that you are the second owner. it does look like it has been garaged.
  • MustaucheRiderMustaucheRider New Wagonist
Yeah, first things first, I need to find some rear lower control arms off a 90-91 civic or da teggy. then I'll probably go to Horsepower freaks and pick up some springs/shocks to lower it 2.5 inches. Then I'll find a da sway bar for the rear and maybe some strut bars.

yes I have an 88 as well. If you can find a DA with the rear suspension intact you can get the rear LCA's and the swaybar at the same time.

Car looks tons better now, going to do the top half (window trim) next week to match.
****On a side note, I ordered h&r race springs, new strut mounts and kyb struts. oh, and BLOX rear lower control arms because it's a 1988, blah, coming in gold anodized.****
Parts should all be here next.....friday? I'm hoping (cross your fingers)

Came home from work today and had an itch to do something to my car, so I went and bought some 6.5" speakers to replace the stock blown paper ones...
    439.jpg
    440.jpg
Then I masked off the top section of the car to paint all the black molding and trim, which took like 2 hours to mask off!

Will take pictures in the sunlight later, I finished around 9:30 pm....
Also, I went to the store and bought some slip resistant drawer liner in tan to put in my dash so my things don't slide around once I get my suspension.

Also installed new wiper blades and rain-x'ed all the windows and the inside of the windshield.
All in all a good night, took me about 4 hours to finish everything but it was worth it!

    Day pics to follow.
