RT4WD Questions - Mostly Gas Mileage Related

I don't have the RT4WD Owners Manual so I thought I would ask some simple questions about this particular model before I throw down my jump to conclusions mat!
1. What is the fuel capacity(in gallons)for the RT4WD?
2. What Octane(Ron)gas rating does the manual call for?
3. What is the avg mpg. for the RT4WD(factory sticker spec)
4. Does setting the transmission from 4WD to 2WD positively effect gas mileage?
5. What aftermarket header works with the RT4WD? I was wondering because I was told that the oil pans were different and regular EF aftermarket headers may not work.
6. On average, how many miles do you guys get on a full tank of gas?(variable answers, i know...but just curious to know.)

roughly 11.5 gallons but I didn't let her run completely dry so I am thinking it holds around 12+gallons? Or am i wrong?

You can compare all kinds of cars. Note that the mileage figures shown are different from the OE window sticker estimates (which are also available)
FWIW, Anne's 2wd DX with MPFI and an Si trans on a fresh-built d15b2 yields a consistent 28mpg in almost all city driving.
My b18a1 swapped 2wd w LS trans gets 22-24, all city.
In my full interior RT Im getting 28, although I think that the timing needs to be set because the previous owner installed a new dizzy and me thinks he knew not what he was doing. I've been driving to Sioux Falls, IA all day, and filled up 3 times. 28, 28 mpg on the first two. I was expecting about 30 hwy with the RT.
#4 is an interesting question. I hope somebody else answers that for you.

It really put into perspective how much more power you'll need to get this thing movin' compared to a hatch or crx.
My brother had some spare parts laying around so we put a fuel pressure gauge on the wagon. At stock idle I am at 25psi.
All hoses connected too.
Is this correct? I read several posts of people saying its supposed to be 35-40psi but not clear if they are doing anything while testing it.
Mileage related, though: Okiewagon told me his mileage went from 24 mpg to 29 with a z6 swap. Interesting.

After letting the engine cool, I pulled a few plugs(note, these are brand new ngk's)and whattya know ALL of them had bright white electrode tips.
Gonna change out the FPR asap to see if that helps.
As for mileage, feel free to check out my fuelly records. The numbers are slightly high since my tire circumference is a little smaller with the steelies from an old EF. http://www.fuelly.com/driver/entropic/civic. It's a 91 RT4WD with a SOHC ZC swap and pretty much nothing else.

I am currently getting 26-27 mpg in my SOHC ZC 88 RT4WD. I need to check my plugs, among other things. I just bought the car. Although the air filter looks brand new. Oh, and this is with 85 octane. Maybe I should try 87? Im sure 91 is probably too much.
You guys are actually making me feel better...i get 31mpg on the highway going about 70mph, and that is with hills.
The reason I say that is all of the other honda folks I know could get closer to 40mpg EASY.
i've not compared the actual tech specs yet (I should), but I've always suspected that the final drive ratio for the wagon is lower?
The one thing i'd be interested in seeing, again, is the EPA sticker rating....
I think we all have to remember that if we did 55-60mph on a long highway trip we'd get super mpg. (I somehow doubt anyone here is doing that!).
It drives decent, but for an SOHC ZC, I think it should be peppier (sp?). Im going to try the 87, and see if my mileage increases, and how I feel about the midrange. Or it could just be the gearing sucks. Because certain hills, traveling 50-60 mph, I feel like I need to drop down to third sometimes.
I also want to get rid of my cat, because about 5k, it falls on its face. But I dont know, Im just used to having more top end I think. Its been a while since I have driven something this slow...
[EDIT] Also, I used to put 91 in my DOHC ZC, when it was stock, and it ran great.
If by "higher fuel mileage" you mean "inflated MPG values," then yes it is. I've used a GPS to verify that the speedo (and therefore the odometer too) is off by as much as 8% at ~80mph. It's not off by that much at lower speeds, but all my MPGs will read high.
And I did look at my 91 Wagon shop manual, it says 11.9gal fuel tanks for all wagons.
If I get a chance to get out into the garage soon, I might try moving the transmission out of 4WD mode for the sake of testing, like JesseCRX brought up earlier.
I was cleaning my motor, and I noticed that my distributor cap only had 2 screws holding it on. So I thought to myself "Did I even change out the cap and rotor when I go the car last year?"
So I pulled the cap and corrosion dust literally fell out of it. The rotor itself was worn down to a numb. I swapped them both for new ones and what a huge difference in throttle response. I drove it all weekend and I barely wasted a little more than a 1/4 tank which is huge compared to how it was performing before.
Now I just need to figure out why my wagon shuts off sometimes when I start her up. She'll crank on but then sputter and die. I have to prime the fuel pump a few times to get it to turn on and stay on(feathering the throttle). It's a really odd problem.
plugs, wires, cap n rotors, fresh oil, oh and went I got back I realized I had left the airbox pipe off the intake. Mustve been that odd whistle I heard at about 3k.
