Pebbles jumps on the bamwagon...REVISITED

2/9/2011:

I'm reviving this old thread because this car is back in the fleet :P You may remember that about 6 weeks after we got it, it was traded to lil'ghost for the gray wagon that pebbles has now.
Well, after Erin made huge strides with a 5spd swap, obd1 b16a, drop, wheels etc...a tree limb smashed the roof. When we put all her goodies in yet another blue shell, I got this one back.

Stay tuned!

6/17/2008:

She's been after me to find her a wagon, always wants to drive mine. (Her Xterra gets 17 mpg).

Bought this '88 DX auto today. One owner, 167k. Guy said it needs a motor. I think it needs a thermostat. We'll see. Runs and shifts well.

seatbelts, seat rails, lower console, and gauge cluster are all different.
  • bam-bambam-bam Council Member
ah, yeah, i forgot about the autobelts. Seats need recovering anyhow. But if I change out the whole dash, cluster and all it'll work, i think, right?
  • wagodizzlewagodizzle Council Member and EDM expert
you know idk if the clusters will work or not. im too lazy to hook up my 89 gauge cluster to my car to test it, haha. only thing that would prevent it from working would be the wires/plugs

we were both wrong. I think it needs an igniter/dizzy. after warming up for awhile it died when i tried to accelerate and wouldn't restart. By the time i went and dug out a spare diz, it cooled enough to start right up. (main relay/fuel pump were working thru all this)

    some cleaned up shots

yeah, it's vinyl bench seats, rubber floor mats, all business. I have a bicycle repair stand that mounts in the receiver and toolbags that hang on the doors. Can comfortably haul 6 people/6 bikes. only options are cruise and rear ac.

So far only in the ATL metro counties...and it PASSED FIRST TRY! :D
  • RevmaynardRevmaynard Council Member
I registered my cars out at my dad's in Madison so I don't have emissions. I win!
  • Ready to set a new record of 6 wagons at the next meet! haha
  • RevmaynardRevmaynard Council Member
Hell yeah, when I actually get ahold of the other one I've paid for there will be four in two households lol.

Cleaned her up some more, painted the wheels, replaced a couple of tires. Treated and primed a couple of rust spots. Fixed the split coolant hose that was probably the source of "overheating, needs a motor" :D .
Went by Hubcap Annie's for another set of used trim rings, then drove on up to the lake- like butter up to 90. And it even came with a full tank of gas!

that is such the "Old School" way of dressing up our little Pregnant RollerSkates.

Black paint and chrome rings, Sweet! I've done it myself in the past. So did that cost over $15 total? Good deal compared with $5-800 for a new set of wheels.
