I am hoping so! Along with a rear disc conversion, we will be golden.
Can't do much paint wise until I'm approved to go back to work. Car parts still coming in though. Got this headlight duct in the mail the other day. A little priming and paint to smooth everything out it will look great.
Me lol.
You can say that again. I had a bad feeling inside buying it lol! Impulse buy. :hopelessness: But it was to awesome not to have. At least it won't cost me anything to get it painted other than my time. Look at me trying to justify buying it haha.
Decided to get new wheels. Will not be running the MR5 due to having to use spacers to clear the Wilwoods up front. Mugens were put into storage. Don't plan on selling them but if someone is really interested I just might. Ohh and bucket seats too.
I'm about to drop a fully built D series into my wagon so I know exactly what you mean about spending money on older cars.
I haven't seen those seats before, back story?
You understand the struggle. There is not much info on these seats. I believe they are from Japan other than that not much is known about them! They are cool though!
Have not updated in a while. Hopefully things will move a little quicker now that I have the wagon stored at the shop instead of having it towed every time I wanted to do work on it.
Suspension components refinished and put together. Engine bay sprayed, undercoating applied and engine installed.
Frame rail beat to clear alternator.
Body work done and seam sealer fixed in some areas.
Engine bay sprayed
Suspension bits redone.
Undercoating done to the front end.
Motor in.
Wagon gutted.
Started with some sound deadening removal. Interior will be left gutted and interior will be based and cleared most likely the color of the car.
Unfortunately my door was banged up from it being transported to the shop. Ended up having the door skin replaced.
Once this fun sound deadening deal is done and over with things should move a little quicker! Thanks for checking in.
Thanks for the kind words! I honestly would really like this part of the build to be done by someone else haha. This absolutely sucks. Going to have some Booger McFarland hands by the time I'm done with this floorboard.
Sound deadening completely removed off the floor and started too sand all the scratches left from removing sound deadening. A little something coming through the mail by the end of next week!
Looks great definitely building your car ground up I’ve missed so many things on this forum, I know exactly what That package is haha I’m waiting on mine too
There is a guy Slimeball_Built who secured a group buy of carbon hoods and SiR style hoods for the wagon. Hit him up if you are interested. I think they were making molds so they should be able to add more hoods to the order, but not 100% sure. I went in for the SiR hood but those are coming after the OEM hoods. They look pretty awesome. They are fully framed, all carbon, and have attachment points for the OEM hood latch.
@Vtec_Shuttle
Thanks bro! Me too. I miss all the updates from other builds. Haha nice you too! I'll give you a follow on instagram if I haven't already. Super excited to get this hood
test fitted.
@arries289
Thanks Bro! Just went to my Local Honda dealer and ordered it! Took about 2 weeks to get to me. It was a vintage Honda Parts Warehouse in Arizona if I remember Correctly. According to the part numbers, the door skin interchanges with the sedans. Maybe thats why there are still some around?
@superhatch
Yea man thats the guy. He's done a super good job at coordinating everything so far.
@thestza
I believe he did have a post of some extra hoods made on Facebook. His Instagram is @slimeball_built_
All the gouges and scratches have been sanded out from the front and rear part of the floor board. All that is left is the spare wheel well area. Than time to scuff and clean the rest of the floor and get it ready for some primer.

fuggggggg... i need to check IG more. thanks, superhatch and spw
Wagon floorpan has been primed up.
After 3 months of waiting my carbon hood came in. Unfortunately, it did come in damaged but just going to smooth it out touch it up with some black and re clear the hood. It shouldn't be too noticeable.
Next is to fix the driver side door hinge stopper thing not even sure what its called just going to eliminate it so it doesn't cause any problems down the road and fix some dents in the door jambs that I wasn't able to fix before.
yeah i seen you post in the group IG chat thats some crap cant believe the shipping company still damaged it with that great packaging on the corners etc. but the hood still looks good with the little damage it has. I'm still waiting for the SiR hood, you have a lot of patients with your wagon lol i don't think i can do this at all
Wow! This build is motivation to anyone really looking to restore a Wagon. Kudos to you man for taking it all the way down. What brand Coilovers did you choose and what spring rates? Just ordered a set of Fortune Auto 500's for my wagon and thought these looked a little like Progress, but just wondered. Great progress on what looks to be an amazing car when its finished!
@Vtec_Shuttle Ohh yea it sucks. Really didn't want to have to fix it. I'm tired of doing bodywork on it haha. He submitted a claim. Hopefully I can get something back for the damages. I'm excited to see how that SiR type hood turns out! It's not my daily so I am not to worried about getting it done so quickly.
@SoulEngineering I appreciate it man! Yea these are progress technology Front 450/ Rear 550.
Got the door holder mechanism fixed. Had one of the body guys weld it back in place. It's pretty sturdy it shouldn't budge! Still have some bodywork to do.
Extremely common failure on the door detent. Mine had failed as well and I had to weld it back up on the drivers door. Which Progress Coilovers did you get? The CS2's or the CS3's?
@SPW This reminds me I have to fix that issue with my driver side door haha, they have the mold already out they have two pictures of the SiR CF hood @Superhatch
Not much going on made some metal plugs to cover up some holes on the floor board. Time for some some seam sealing and finish off body work on the front door checker.
There was some imperfections with the door jambs I could simply not live with. Ended up fixing them and priming them.
Also did some seam sealing.
Sanding all of this has been no joke. Been at it for about 4 hours got one door jamb and front/rear of floor pan done. All that is left is the firewall, other door jamb and spare tire well area.
This little guy has helped me a ton.
Door skin did come in with some damage but nothing too major. Door skin seam sealed and primed.
My goal is to get the rest of the interior and jambs sanded by next week and painted by the end of the month. After that the shell will be blocked and the roof will be painted. It will make the paint job of the rest of the car easier.

Very common! My last wagon had the same issue. Hopefully this repair holds up. I went with the CS3's.
I love it! Can't wait to get the wagon painted the hood is going to go with the color so good.
Do it bro!
