MexiChriS from Cali!

Well hello HWC! Obviously new here and I've got no Civic Wagon yet, but a lot of love for Hondas and EF models. I'm a frequent user at CRX Community and own a 1988 CRX Si with a ZC SOHC that I swapped in last winter of 2010.

Currently my rex is going out of commission. So planning on getting my next car finally, keeping it STRICTLY 1988 ONLY and aiming only of course at a Civic Wagon RT4WD if possible, although I've only seen 1 for sale in years this past week and now its gone... So if anyone knows someone with one, let me know please!!

Well heres my current ride.

thanks, doubt i'll find what i'm looking for, but i could settle with a random wagon to mess/enjoy with
Nice sig by the way: "four doors = more whores" haha!

Going to scope out a 89 wagon I've been eyeing for 2mon. Not RT4WD but I can't wait for one anymore as I need a car. In need of a wagon to mob in... Well I'll post info on it whenever I'm back on
  • 88 only and a rtawd model, wow you are leaving no room for play. good luck with your hunt and welcome. although i feel you bro, i was only interested in a 90-91 rtawd. lol

Yea I'm picky, but I can manage it, I've got this Honda curse that took me 6 years to overcome & just to get my 1988 CRX Si for $1000, that i told everyone I'll get stock/unmolested basically newish... I got mine for $945 and I've got me a nice Rex I'm in love with... So def no room for play, but it's the specs and 'certain things' of a specific model that I actually look into, cause I'm that kinda of Honda guy.

With all that said though, I'm gonna be going with ANY civic wagon FWD '89-91 just for the mean time, unless I snatch a '88 FWD one. As my CRX needs an overhaul and I'm a drop a beasty engine in both my CRX and upcoming wagon. So I'm looking elsewhere for now as a wagon is really needed right now!! So will see what's up within the few weeks

Checked out the '91 Civic Wagon. FAIL not wanting to sell or part with it at this time... So I'm on a hunt still. Found one located in Santa Maria in my price range but he didn't list his damn area code for his cell/house phone... I'm having no luck at all on finding a clean proper running for sale wagon

Finally after a hard time to get ahold or even some contact with anyone. I found a wagon I'd like to buy and a damn seller!! Gonna be checking it out, but honestly just might buy it right on the spot... Engines swaps have changed my point of views of 'shells' to running cars for me to fix & sell, but this car is for me!
  • Go to google, type "tempest search" its used to multi search craigslist county/cities. Check it out. I think you'll like it. Hope that helps you in your quest.

Maybe, I've never used crazedlist.org but its useful when searching in multiple areas.

Not really liking for hunting Wagons, it can't really manage a find... thanks though, helped me find a few parts i needed!! Better than nothing

Well I checked out 2 wagons this morning, 1st was listed as a clean car and when i saw it was completely all thrashed and altered down to the wires being ghetto rigged as hell as for the 2nd only issue was the car not running, either a battery-main relay-wiring issue, plus rust on the bottom of the car.... So the hunt continues! Trying to invest on my purchase since its not '88 RT4WD...

Does anyone have any interior/exterior or a spare wagon for parts/parting out?? Looking for some stuff, let me know

Well I checked out an '89 wagon in Modesto that I want, but if seller would only contact me back about picking up with a better price, can't say how much I'm hating traveling 4-5 hours away for a wagon and coming home wagonless...

Well if not that wagon, theres a '90 wagon I'm wanting to just buy as much pics were provided and info. Waiting till Monday/Tuesday to check it out as it's payday soon and I'm dead set on it.

ANYWAYS since ive got no marketplace acces; admin's please give me access already, I'm a list here for those that see this. I've got a JDM ZC SOHC with a clean 5-speed Si tranny coming out my CRX Si pictured above. New NGK sparkplugs and wires. Recent tuneup 2 weeks ago. Has very low mileage wanna say 85,000 and regularly serviced with Mobil 1 oil/filter as well as Honda Manual Transmission fluid only! Very well taken care and perfect running motor with a butter smooth transmission. Bought from dmlemus on CRXCommunity (google him, very clean Rex & takes care of his ride).
I'm asking $550 and can be located anywhere from Lancaster, Palmdale, Santa Clarita and Bakersfield CA (i live everywhere) dirrect message me for more info/contact
  • sent you a pm.

glad we got in contact, hope to swap my engine in your wagon, but like I said be willing to help swap it in with ya if needed as well! Will def talk more in a few days
  • going to Modesto huh, cool wich one are you looking at over there. You got a link or something we can check out. I only ask because I checked a couple of them over there but I really only saw one in person before I scored this one. You know I made a 14 hr round trip for mine, so a 8 hr trip don't sound that bad either.

No link. Found it through driving around town after this one wagon I checked out. Can't remember what the wagon was listed under for that one... I've found like 12 in Lancaster and Palmdale and about 4 in Bakersfield... I hunt around wherever I go. I'll see if my friend has pics of it though!

Well I've travelled to much for a wagon man. I'm cool and down for it, but not after I've checked beyond 8+ that's just to much effort for nothing in the end... Soon enough though

Santa Maria is where I drove to get the wagon. Took 3hrs+ to get there from Bakersfield taking CA-166. Got lost on the way back home, so took 4hr+ with a major detour through CA-41/44 i believe, through Paso Robles basically to get to Bako. That route back home put my wagon through a major test run on how the engine is, as those hills/mountains are beasty!! All in all, i came up on a decent running car, perfect ride nearly identical to my moms BMW X5, and it has no overheat or signs of oil leak while sitting (tested 2 days to see). So all in all, glad i drove out there and risked it the way back, perfect test run!

Post me a pic on here man! Or got a thread for your build???
    Can't wait to see it
    Request granted in a bit...

So for $1270 I picked up a 1990 Civic Wagon with about 1484628 miles on the chassis/engine. The stock D15b2 engine needs a full gasket kit or whatever its called due to spark plugs and valve cover leaky issue + a distributor o-ring leak. Both an easy fix as my CRX had the same issue, only it was worse/severe than this condition in my wagon, as my rex engine was pretty much dead. So I'll save/restore this stock engine.

Now the only real major issue I see so far is the clutch might need a full kit replacement, might pass up on that despite the fact that it needs a release bearing (throwout bearing) which I will replace as its pretty much fucked/noisy. So who knows, I like killing two birds with one stone + my friend works for ACT sooo hook up there for a full clutch kit... Once again though my rex had the same issue only I never fixed it as I parted the tranny/clutch for cash.

Aside from those 'minor issues' to me, some minor touch ups to TLC required would be a radio needed to few body dings + the major door damage needing bodywork, window & lock opening/closing issues, to my clock losing lighting power/reseting itself... With all this said, I'm a do ALL the work myself, cause I can and thats how I am when it comes to Honda's. Showing the hard work to dedication to own one! :)

    Well now for the pics!!
